My 05 V50SE (UK spec.) won't let me into the tailgate. The release button seems more like a diaphragm switch than a real button, and sometimes it just refuses to open. I usually open in what seems the natural way, with 3 or 4 fingers pressing the release, and lifting at the same time. Sometimes that works just fine.
When it won't release, Ive had success by prodding around the area with one finger until I find a 'hot spot' :grin: where it clicks and opens (if I'm lucky).
Is this a common problem?
On the same subject, I find the tailgate needs to be slammed in order to shut, otherwise it looks closed, but comes up with a tailgate open warning when the key's put in. I mentioned this to the dealer at the time of post delivery inspection, and they said it was normal....
This is an extremely expensive small car, so it doesn't sound normal to me...

Yeah, you really have to slam it in order to shut it properly. A few times I thought it was shut and ended up with the message saying it is not. Lately, I find it is getting easier to close, maybe the lock is getting looser than when I was new.
