A readout from the computer thingy indicates a lot of problems with the Air Conditioner. Mainly they concern various sensors. Even with the manual it is hard to know where these sensors are located and what their functions are. Someone on the forum suggested an air compressor can be used to giggle the sensors back into sensibility. Does anyone have more info on this?
An 850 can be hell on wheels in summer [and winter] if the 'climate control' won't work!
The 850 turbo is a great car. Volvos are great: our first was a 265 [a lemon] the second a 245. But there is always a fatal flaw. The injection system in the first, rubber and electrics in the second- it still sits sadly in the bottom paddock. With both, the AC system used to cark with irritating irregularity- like just when you really needed a bit of coolth!
So good info on sensors & AC would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Seems to be a common problem. Mine does the same thing and the people at volvo canīt tell what it is.
I cleaned the interior temp sensors with contact cleaner, since the scanner tells the problem is there; but didnīt work.
I suspect itīs a bad contact somewhere.

By the way, the interior temp sensors are beneath the grab handles
