Where is the a/c relay on a '90 760 turbo located? I have a manual, but cannot locate it.

according to my haynes manual for the 740/760 series it should be behind the control panel or this:

Automatic Climate Control removal and refitting (page 94 for reference)

1. remove the glovebox, also remove the outer panel vent and duct.

2. disconnect the air mix shutter control rod, the electrical multiplug and the vacuum pipe cluster from the programmer.

3. remove the three screws which secure the programmer and remove it.

4. whenn refitting, secure the programmer with the three screws. connect the vacuum cluster and the multi plug, then adjust the shutter control rod as follows.

5. run the engine to provide a vacuum. select maximum heat on the temperature control dial. pull the control rod unitl it reaches its stop and secure it to the programmer arm.

6. refit duct, vent and glovebox.

Other than that, the relays are located behind the center console. just remove the ash tray, the little cover where the cigarette light is, take the screws out, then u have access to the relays and fuses. you might need to take the head unit out if you need more hand room.

in the manual here it doesnt specify a separate a/c relay, but it has 2/3 vacant positions. these are space o and p which are far left nearest the side wall and look like bits stuck on the side of the main block, and r which could also be vacant or might have ignition advance on it which is in the same position but on the opposite side.

My books don't show a specific AC system relay. To access the main relays on this year 760 it shows to remove the under-dash panel on the passenger side. The relays are located at left, on the right side of the console, just below the radio. But the only AC relay which is not called an AC relay as such, is located behind the glove compartment - EEC Power Stage (Electronic Climate Control Power Stage unit).
