Hi everyone,
I saw a nice disscussion around the sport package. I'm interesting in purchasing it on V50, but I'm little bit worried, how it will perform during the winter on snow with the lowered chassis. I don't want to damage something from the nice body kit. How is the handling on the snow?

If you have some additional experience with the sport package, like comparison in comfort with the regular on, please drop down a few lines about your experience.

Thank you very much for taking your time...

I have the '05 V50 w/sport package. I live in the state of Wisconsin (snowy) in the USA. It is absolutely the worst handling car in snow that I have ever driven. I have been stuck on inclines in moderate snow conditions, even with the bad weather traction system operating. I can only assume the wide, low-profile tires are the problem.

How is the handling on a dry road? should be very good. What do you think about the comfort of the ride with the lowered chassis. Is it comfortable for daily commuting and long trips? Thanks.

Hi Guys,

I have the sport package and dynamic trim package. I have winter tires and rims that I put on for the winter but I try not to use this car for winter. I have a BMW with a sport package that I didn't buy winter wheels for, this gets stored. I am now planning to buy a winter vehicle, an SUV very likely, so that I can keep the other cars clean and clear from the damn salt. I drive T5 for one winter as mentioned with sport and dynamic trim packages, no problems - but I did change the tires. If you kept the 17" sport tires on it for winter, well what do you expect??? You can't use a performance summer tires in snow, just doesn't work.....

Cheers...

Baresi- can't really answer your original question on snow. However I can tell you that I have a the sport package on 18" wheels.

The handling is superb especially for a nose heavy front wheel drive car. whilst the suspension is firm it is not at all crashy or uncomfortable.

Took the car on a three tour of Europe during the summer, Swiss Alps, Tuscany, Lake Garda and finally the Jura region of France and the car just simply devoured the roads, coped with the luggage and brought a real smile to my face.

I'd say go for it and just get your self a good set of snow tyres for the winter

I live in Norway (read:snowy country), and my V50 is as good as any on winter conditions.
