I just purchased a 1999 C70 and the prior owner’s wife added fake wood to the dash and other areas. The section that she added to the glove box door is starting to come off and we would like to remove all of it. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I don't think the previous owner added the 'fake' wood. The wood veneer is a factory fitted option. You don't want to remove it because it may expose the locking mechanism which will make it look worse. You should try to replace the part or fix it. It may be clipped or glued on but I'm guessing there are screws behind the glove compartment lid that holds this part in place.
In case you want to consider replacing all the trims with the same color if you dont like it. The options are - plastic - black walnut - red walnut - aluminium - black marble - red wood 'fake' - claret walnut - light wood |
