first thing to do is turn your key so ignition is on ,do not start the car, place it in reverse gear, get out of the car , check the reverse lights are on ,if not then trouble is your selector rods, if light is on ,then check for low fluid in your gearbox take out the dipstick to check it,and look at the colour of it ,and smell it does it have a burned smell and brown or black then you need a fluid change.

as you do not have reverse lights,it can only be one of two things, the first one is loose selector rods to your gearbox, the other thing is a switch down the side of your gear stick should be down the left hand side, held by two bolts they may be loose, you will need a strong light to check.

that looks to be the trouble ,try a car breakers ,note how to remove it in the breakers ,just remove each of the bolts keep them.your selector switch is the bottom of the picture, so due to that spilt bush you are not moving the selector into reverse

that selector switch needs to be adjusted , that is the switch you see on the left hand side of the gear stick , look at your pictures you can see the position of the switch before you removed it.
