My V50 T5 has jerky gear changes (auto) and feels as if it "over boosts" on pull away. When I reach 2000rpm it returns to normal. Also, when cruising on the highway and I floor it, it feels as if it goes and then doesn`t. It very slight but noticable. What could be the cause of this?

check your transmission fluid,if it is low top it up,and smell it if it is burned smell change it,but check your codes, your car will tell you what is wrong.

It's now got 144000kms on the clock. It's jerky thru first and 2nd. Sometimes going from neutral to reverse or drive also takes the gearbox a couple of seconds to respond and when it does it gives a hell of a jerk...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

We are having a very similar problem with our Volvo V50 T5 Auto - 2005 model. It tends to happen only once the car has warmed up a bit. The car seems to "jump" into the next gear with a big jerk (while driving fully "automatic")- almost like a kick down - except the revs drop and then shoot up. Has anyone else had something similar and did you find out what the cause of it was? I have been told by a private mechanic that it could be the gear ?linkage? not working, or there not being enough oil - but as I'm not a mechanic this means little to me. We took the car past a Volvo garage and their computers could not pick up any issues??? It's very worrying - so any responses with any ideas would be greatly welcome.
