hi all newbie from merseyside how can i find out what engine i have in my v50 se 2.4 se 2004 , ive been told it may be from ford

It's a Volvo Engine; but because Ford owned Volvo from 1999 until 2010, one might also be technically correct when talking about your 2004 car that "It's a Ford !"

Since 2010, the Volvo Car Corporation has been owned by the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group out of China; so now, the whole car could be said to be Chinese . . . . but the engine is still going to be a Volvo Engine.

You can decipher your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to identify exactly which engine your vehicle is equipped with. Here's a handy dandy Volvo VIN Decoder you might find useful:

Do that and you'll know more about your car than anybody you talk to knows about theirs.

thanks for the info im well pleased with the car few stone chips but apart from them fantastic nick
