Our much-loved 240 is undergoing some serious TLC to rectify the ravages of time and climate. Currently I am unable to source the '240' badge/emblem on RHS of boot/trunk lid as per attachment. Any ideas where I could buy one or should I investigate having it re-chromed? I also need the black stripe tape that sits under the side windows. She is only 20 years old (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) but neither item is available any more ex-factory. Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

The badges can be found in salvage yards or on ebay.

As far as the tape under the windows - people either pull it completely off and leave it, or replace it with 3M black tape.

Thanks for replying Robert240 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif) .
Naturally I tried all (three (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) my local Volvo dismantlers before I posted.

After my post, I got on the Net some more. Google turned up myswedishparts.com in the US who list the stripe tape on their site. I immediately ordered and PayPal'd it. There has been no communication from them since. I'll keep the forum posted.

Regards.

Can do Robert240. But only if and when I get it. So far my 4-day old order has not progressed at all and the enquiry I posted using the Contact form on their site has been ignored (IMG:style_emoticons/default/puzzled.gif) . Have you or anyone you know had any experience with MySwedishParts.com? I am about to e-mail them. I am used to an eBay-style response where articles are despatched really promptly.

Cheers.

I hope this works out for you, and that you don't get scammed.

If you need parts in the future, two suggestions. One is FCP Euro. Badging and trim pieces are scarce, but all electrical, mechanical, and otherwise required parts are sourced reputably, cheap, and shipped quickly, in my experience.

The second is Chapman Motors. I'm lucky enough to live near these guys, and they have acres of old Volvo on mid Vancouver Island. I've never ordered anything long-distance from them, but I've gotten plenty of replacement parts for my 240s, even a '79 or '80, through them. Trim pieces, lights, electrics, mechanical, engines, whole cars, etc. They have the works.

Hope that helps in future. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

If I see one in decent shape at my local pull-a-part, I will snag it for you.

I'll send it your way for actual cost and shipping. If not, I will stick it on my battlewagon, as she needs one too.
