Hi there,

I have a clunk in my Volvo's diff (66 Amazon B18). Severe backlash. An enthusiast I spoke to mentioned to me that that there is a collapsible washer or spacer in the diff that may cause this. Apparently a simple fix but which still requires the disassembly of the diff. Can anyone point me to a schematic that shows this part and/or advise the part number ?

Regards

you have the pinion bearing were the prop shaft goes in to, that can fail, but there may be damage to the teeth in the diff, need to replace that if that is the case, and you may have worn spaces between the gear wheels, in the diff, may be cheaper getting a back asle.

Thanks - yes - other advise I received also suggested it may be worn spider gears and that I should try and source another diff.
