morning all..........i am new to this site and to volvos, so please be gentle with me

my question is.... how do i stop the pesky lights always being on when i drive.. i know i can go onto side lights, but then i forget to turn them off when i get out the car.. please help

oh and as a new boy, the drinks are on me ...... C H E E R S

hi kieth it will say in your manual or in the haynes manual , but its dont quote me pull main beam stalk and turn light switch to on or off then release stalk or something like that mate then they can be on forever or when you want

Drives: 1995 960 3 liter and a 1998 v40cd 2 liter



the stalk pcocedure wont work on the 98 model only the phase 2 v40s the only way i found to turn them off is to take the headlight switch out and cut the thicker of the 2 blue/yellow wires that will stop the drl headlights only if you want the sidelights as well off you need to buy another light switch that doesn't allow them

cheers fella...... tried it and not work............. called a dealer who said the same sort of thing, then called me back and said it cant be done on my model... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

top man......... i will give this a go..... it might seem really trivial to people , but i ride a motor bike with my lights on to be more visable, so my theory is that the more cars that have the headlights on, the less visable me and my mates are on our bikes... hope this works and thanks to you all for your help.

i will prolly keep the car now.. i was offered the same price that i paid for it from a dealer on Saturday & it nearly went. but now those headlights are off, i am happy with it

would this work on a 1999/2000 modell as well?
i dont have the sidelights on just the mains. and rear. anoying.
