I was wondering what are the possible culprits to pull during braking??? I replaced the brakes and the suspension shop says the front suspension is ok. The car pulls left sometimes when I brake hard, but not all the time.....Help???

Fuel Mileage
I am wondering what the fuel mileage your C70 it getting. I was quite surprised by mine getting 26.5 MPG when cruising at 65 MPH. It is a 1999, convertible, low pressure turbo, 91 octane and only mod is a K&N air filter. I think I am getting in the high teens around town but now will check this next tank full.

I have a 2002 V70.
I got a pearcing squeel a few weeks ago.
I thought it must be the belt, so I replaced it.
Seemed to slack off when I did. But soon enough it got worse.
I thought maybe it's a bad pully so I pulled the belt and checked the pully.
They seemed to be fine. I had about enough and wife was pegging out the frustration meter so she took it to a mechanic this...

My top opens {retracts} and stores into the truck area just fine. When closing however, it comes very close to perfectly sealing but never grabs/locks. A very small gap is visible and while drive, the chime continues to sound, and the indicator light remains on. Please, anyone have advice before I get socked for major dollars at Volvo dealer.

I have searched this forum for threads on replacing the shocks on a C70 convertible and so far the what I have found is for the coupe only. I have removed the carpet in the trunk and barely get my hand on the top of nut for the right had side shock but the left hand side shock I block by an unknown item. I have a '99 C70 Convertible LPT. While driving my top lowering/raising button flashes orange and dings repeatedly, the top is up but apparently not according to the car's sensors. I cannot get the top to go any further up, or down for that matter. The switch has no effect. I have just purchased a C70 Convertible 2005(Sept). From start to about 30MPH there is a lot of wheel shudder and suspension shake. The car has not been in an accident and Volvo tell me that this is expected from this model. It is almost that the wheels are not balanced nor aligned! Has anyone else experienced this and IS there a solution.

I have a 1999 C-70 and the oil dip stick has broken. I have been to 5 places and nobody can reach it. Was told that the dipstick tube would have to be remove. Couldn't I just continue to drive and change the oil, etc and leave the stick in there? I don't see how it could hurt?

I'm a pretty die-hard manual transmission driver, but when I stumbled upon this 2002 C70 convertible with an auto tranny, I couldn't pass it up. Slowly but surely I'm getting used to driving an automatic, but I'm not sure if it's shifting the way it's supposed to.

My car has the 17" Comets with the larger factory brake rotors... looking for something for winter tires, the Meteors from a V70R look almost identical to my 17" Comets but are 16x6.5 vs 17.7.5... Will they fit, or will they hit my brakes, be the wrong offset, etc. Don't want to buy them if I can't just get some 16" winter tires and bolt them on.

Just curious to see if anyone else had problems with the 18" Mirzam rims on a 2006 C70. I took delivery of a C70 with the rims on 6/2006, and by 9/2007 (22,000 miles) had to replace all 4 rims because they were out of round with steering wheel shimmy. The 4 18" rims I replaced them with were found by the dealer to be out of round 2 months later at 24,000.

I'd like to get other people's opinions on the obvious turbo lag of the HPT.

It actually probably has me driving safer at slow speeds. I try to avoid the turbo kick without realizing it, especially when I'm starting from a stop at a light. Hopefully I'm not as bad as the people who typically annoy me because it takes them so long to get moving you think they nod off...
