I've seen the posts about window mechanisms for C70's they seem to be a real weak point. In the 2000 mod. convertible I just purchased I have begun to pay more attention to a "pop" noise that occurs in about the last inch of travel as you are raising the glass. Just recently ,on very hot days , the glass will hang up at this point if the door is closed and will continue to rise...

What do I need to say more...

I like the classic C70 better than the new (C40 in would say)...

Great forum, im going to have a look at a c70 2.3T gt on Tuesday and have researched on what to look out for, one thing I would like to ask is the what is the general turbo life for the 2.3 t? I understand its not a LPT therefore should I be expecting to replace the Turbo sometime soon considering this is a 90k car I may be buying or does...

I recently bought a C70 and saw no tire wear for six months until I looked carefully underneath and noticed the rear wheels wearing out on the inside. I bought two new tires (expensive) and went to get the car aligned at the Volvo dealership. They said they couldn't align the car within Volvo specs. What can I do? I'd hate to keep buying these expensive tires. The front end seems OK.

Just want to say hello and like in the title i planning on buying an used vovlo c70 (not convertible). It will be propably a 2000 model. I recently bought a C70 used with 46K miles and it seems to be running fine. In fact, I love the car. I'm a little concerned, however, about a slight grinding sound when I accelerate. I'm I headed for trouble or is this normal?

Am thinking of buying some larger wheels for my car but am not sure what size to go for. Ideally I would like the wheels to fill the arch but the ride height and gap between my wheel arch and tyre at the moment is quite large.

I have just purchased a C70 2.4 GT Low presure turbo. Can any one tell me whether this type of turbo system can have the boost presure increased like a conventional turbo car by putting a bleed valve on the actuator pipe?

It seems the drivers side window SW has decided to pack it in, was just wondering if I have to take the door panel off to get at the SW or is it removable on its own, I have a feeling the SW unit is compatible w/ other models so it will be easier to find a spare/replacement. Tested and working, 45K miles, Car had rear right side quarter panel damage but start and ran. I needed the front clip to fix a 2002. So I have all this left over.

My fan blows out a gassy toxic steam when I switch the fan on. I can't warm the car or clear the screen. If I turn the temperature dial, the steam comes out so I have to have it switched to cold! The passenger side carpet get wet so I guess there might be a leak thats linked to the fan?
