I have a 1999 C70, with 122,000 miles on the clock.

Apart from the usal creaking when on full lock, temporarily removed by greasing the stops, I have started to get a 'creaking' noise when pulling away from stationary - worse when turning. I do not get this noise when accelerating from speed, it just seems to be from a start or slow speed. As I pick up speed, the noise goes...

Just removed my dash and realized how bad the plastic has deteriorated causing numerous squeaks and rattles when hitting even a small bump. I have decided to take this time to consider doing an interior overhaul as opposed to fixing the dash mounting points. Thoughts and recommendations are appreciated. Perhaps a possible group buy for materials eg. Alcantara suede to redo the seats.

Can someone provide brief instructions on an oil and filter change for 2008 C70?

Fuel Mileage
I am wondering what the fuel mileage your C70 it getting. I was quite surprised by mine getting 26.5 MPG when cruising at 65 MPH. It is a 1999, convertible, low pressure turbo, 91 octane and only mod is a K&N air filter. I think I am getting in the high teens around town but now will check this next tank full.

The convertible top has begun getting stuck while trying to put the top down, (the top stops midway, with the plank cover pointing up). I can get the top to the desired position by manipulating the top and once down putting pressure on the back cover. Unfortunately the manual tools designed to manipulate the top were not sold with this car (bought it 2nd hand).

My 2005 (old shape) C70 convertible has developed a nasty creak from the drivers window top !.
When the window is lowered by a small ammount their is no creak, & a perfect smooth quiet ride......window up & the horrible creak re-appears.
Car still has volvo warranty, shall i seek help or is this acceptable ?

I am planning to buy new tyres for my C70 T5 but I can not decide which tyre to by. I have been using Michelin Pilot Sport however, bubbles easily occur on Michelin. What would you suggest me to buy? When trying to close my 2004 C70 convertible top,the rear lid opened fully then everything stopped. I noticed that the "truck open" light was on and figiured that's why it stopped working. 1999 C70 Convertible. I'm experiencing a problem putting the top down. The rear lid opens as it should and the top drops down into the well, but the boot/tonneau cover remains in the raised position. IE: It is sticking straight up into the air and will not close.

Any advice on how to fix or where to start looking to troubleshoot?

I recently purchased a volvo c70 convertible. It has a few problems that need to be worked out. This one deals with a dried up drip that went through the hole where the odometer trip button is. My wife and I just bought a 2002 C 70 HT convertible and so far it is fantastic. It has the Dolby surround stereo system and sounds phenomenal. I have just purchased a C70 Convertible 2005(Sept). From start to about 30MPH there is a lot of wheel shudder and suspension shake. The car has not been in an accident and Volvo tell me that this is expected from this model. It is almost that the wheels are not balanced nor aligned! I was wondering what are the possible culprits to pull during braking??? I replaced the brakes and the suspension shop says the front suspension is ok. The car pulls left sometimes when I brake hard, but not all the time.....Help???

Got a 99' Volvo C70 and sometimes when I turn the key it will spin 360 degree's around and wotnt catch or start,, I have to keep spinning till it catches and turns on and starts.

My Volvo Coupe sounds like a bird is tapping on the sunroof at 90 km onwards.

Awaiting arrival of a new C70 T5 with all the whistles and bells except the high-end sound system, which for strange and inexplicable reasons I cannot fathom, will be missing. Apparantly I cannot pay for an upgrade, nor will Volvo fit the better system once I recieve the car...even if I pay in blood..nor can I order the Dynaudio speakers separately and have them fitted...

I have bought a 2006 C70 from a volvo dealer. I noticed that the alloys were showing corrosion, a number of fine spider like patches on different parts of the rims. Dealer was very helpful and all four are being replaced by volvo UK with an assurance of further replacement if it reoccurs.

Just like in one of the other topics, my 2002 C70 conv rear window has come detached from the conv top. I am told by Volvo as well as many Auto glass professionals that this cannot be repaired, but must be replaced. The Auto/Glass professionals seem to think this is an manufacturer defect since it is factory adhesived. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how was it resolved?

I am going to do an HID upgrade with 3k kit for the fogs and 5k for the headlights.
The low beam install looks straight forward, as for the fogs I have been looking on the forums and have not found a post yet about fitting HIDs in them. They are projectors in the C70 so they should be great once set up. I have a few questions about how to do this,

I just had my Abs module rebuilt and all the lights on the dash went off. (tracs, abs, brake) But to my suprise now the tach drops down to 500rpm and goes back to 1000rpm at times and the check engine light has come on. Didn't have any problems but the warning lights before getting the rebuilt abs module was installed.
