Hi, I have been searching and searching for images of a C70 with an aftermarket dash kit installed to see the finish and quality.
I am abit board with my wood dash, its abit dated. Any thoughts, opinions or anything would be greatley appreciated.

Hello, I have a '98 C70 2.3 Turbo that's been running fine. Lately, it seems to be running a little hot, so I checked the fluids (I'll admit I don't check the fluids all that regularly). When I checked the oil, it didn't even show up on the dipstick, so I added a quart. Then it showed up on the low end of the dipstick. I also noticed when I pulled the dipstick out that there was steam/smoke coming out of the hole. It's about due for an oil change, so I'm having that done today (I've been changing oil and filter every 5,000 miles). Has anyone else had to add oil in between oil changes? I've owened a few other makes of cars and have never had this happen. Any advice is much appreciated!

Apparently the code was entered wrong three times. The nearest dealer is a good distance from me. Is there any way to reset the radio and try a different code? Thanks...

I want to swop the steering wheel from my N reg 850 T5 to my Y reg C70 T5.

I havn't deduced yet quite how to remove them, but I'm guessing if I turn the wheel a little further I might reveal some allen key bolts behind the base of the wheel.

Should I be weary of the airbag cos I know they can be sensititve (even if electrics are totally off??)

How easy is it, or is it impossible to re allign my rear bumper, bought an hanes manual and there doesn't seem to be any detail on removing and re aligning the rear bumper. Any information would be Great!

just bought a boost gauge for the car.. i thought it'd be best to see how the car is behaving before beginning to mod it..

i opted for an Autogauge mechanical boost gauge (PSI version of this one):



does anyone have any guides for installing one of these i.e. where can the vacuum line be fed through the bulkhead?..

at the minute i'm just going to install it under the ashtray but when i get round to changing the stereo over i'll install it in the spare din slot with oil pressure and oil temp gauges..

does anyone have any pics of their gauge installs as well??

Today was simply nothing short of an awesome day as I took a drive from Groningen to Moegestel (200km) to pay Marc and European Tuning a visit. This was my first time visiting the area let alone Marc and his shop so I wasn't sure what to expect.

Upon arriving around midday, I noticed a few very sweet rides parked in the lot and inside the workshop were a couple more, including Marc's black R with the CF hood! Having gotten some coffee, Marc, Tom and myself sat down in what I can only describe as a very clean and professional show room where display cabinets were showing off various parts that I've only ever seen in pictures on the internet. Its a WHOLE different experience on its own seeing simple things like projector headlights for the x70 cars or rear-spoilers for the 850 in real life instead of on 300x500 images on your monitor. It was like sitting in a real live Volvo hobby room!

After coffee and discussions about future projects and other stuff, Marc decided he was going to install the 19" replica Pegs on Sharon. I gotta say that he treated her with more care and professionalism than I ever have, and it's MY car!! Seriously, his attention to detail is almost surreal, not only installing the Pegs with amazing and complete care, but also adjusting my exhaust tips which cleaned up the rear, putting silver bulbs in my corner lights to clean up the front and finally tightening some of the bits and pieces in the engine bay, and all this simply they're both perfectionist and Volvo ethusiasts of the highest degree!

Having completed work on Sharon, we sat outside the workshop and just admired the new look and talked all things Volvo. I can only say that both Mark and Tom are both stand-up guys, very down to earth with answers to pretty much every volvo question I had of which I had MANY! The hours spent in bumper to bumper traffic was well worth it! You simply don't get the experience by looking at pictures on the web, ordering them and getting them in the box. Its like Americans doing the Overseas Delivery Program to pick up their Volvo from Gothenburg ;D

Anywho, I can go on and on about how cool a day it has been, but I'll just post some pics of the car which we took, I'll go on location sometime soon to take more pics with the new shoes ;D Thanks again Mark and Tom the day and your endless patience with my questions ;D ;D

Hopefull this is not a repost of another question. I was wondering if anyone new if the new 02-03 grills for the C70 would fit the 99 model or if they make an aftermarket egg crate grille for the 99 c70.

So i found a 2002 Volvo c70 close to my hometown for sale online. It's going for about 12,000USD but i'm sure i can work it down to 10 maybe. Anyway, the car looks like it's in great condition.

It has 90,000 miles with new tires, brake pads, rotors, and dear-installed aftermarket air intake.

the ad online says that the car gets 300+ horsepower.

I'm a little bit skeptical of this claim, and perhaps can use their boastfulness as a leveraging point when negotating price haha. suckers.

Anyway, with a 236hp turbo engine i'd definitely be looking to mod the car a bit. It seems like the perfect ride for me. sporty, performance luxury coupe. A great "driver's car".

The ONLY problem i have with getting this car right out is the color. i know it may seem like a pretty lame thing to get hung up on, but it's a sort of sandy beige. not exactly the most exciting color for a european sports coupe. Not too sure if i want to invest the 2k it would probably cost for a sweet paint job, but who knows.

I'm new to these forums, so any advice or tips would be much appreciated. I'll be looking through the forums, but if anyone can think of any specific problems i might have, please respond! THANKS A BUNCH!

I have a C70 Cabrio MY 1999 and I would like to open the roof while the car is moving (at low speed, I promise...).

I disconnected the sensor of the handbrake, fooling the car to think it was still on, but this did not work. The car began to open the roof but suddenly a sound alarm went on and the roof stopped opening. I guess there is a movement sensor somewhere that also needs to be fooled...

Anybody knows how to do this?

My switch for the electric window on the driver side is jammed - can't push or pull. The other switch for the passenger is working fine. Do I need to buy a new switch or is it a wiring problem that can be repaired. I ve been quoted about USD 100 for a new switch.

Also my air-conditioning is acting up. Sometimes it works fine, other times the fan makes a booming blowing sound and not much air comes out.

Please help!!!

I am working on an 88 760 Turbo wgn. When it 1st came in it was not running- No fuel, no spark. A previous mechanic replaced the Jetronic and ignition switch so far that I have found. I have replaced the Jetronics again and ran a wire from there to the "power Module that I found was bad to get spark. I also replaced the tank pump and got it running. The next morning I came to restart it and it has no spark. I have ckecked voltages at the "power module, coil, Jetronic - all good. I ahve tried to check signal from the Jetronic to the coil (grounding side) and it appears good (it has 12v ign on until crank then I can see switching pulses). I guess I need help on this. The only wiring I have is the Hanes book up to 88 that really only goes to 87. The wiring diagram is not conclusive and has discrepancies w/ my application. I have found other models w/ more than 2 wires at the coil, and more wires shown at my Jetronic than is shown. A good wiring diagram would be helpful as would advise. NE ideas? U may reply directly 2 my Eml if U wish. I cannot always remember coming back 2 these forums, much less which post.

Esotec is the name that gives dynaudio to the loudspeakers destined to car audio, I have searched in different webs and it seems that the loudspeakers that the new one mounts c70 are of ets series, that opinion teneis? Might someone think?

I make sense of better me, in the country where vivvo the roads are disconesse and therefore I am afraid that with the time the rigid roof to open car can make noise or to wave.

I just bought a 2000 C70. Everything works great on this car with the exception of the CD player. It is the 3-cassette magazine version. When I load the magazine, the player continuously cycles through all three cassettes but never loads (or plays) any of them. I tried using a friend's magazine, and it behaved the same way.

Has anyone had this problem? Is it possible to adjust something to make this work?

I am new in this first forum to congratulate them and despues to consult the following thing: this model has information about the change of head unit my car has the system dynaudio, Alpine, head unit and amplifier. I would like to change the head unit alpine into my Mc Intosh mx 406 and I do not have information in my country if this is possible and that problems I can be, tineis information photography or information extras????

In Europe they are not in the habit of doing these changes, but I imagine that It uses it is something current.

My problem is that most of the resources for say for instances, Filters, Strut Braces, Lowering Springs, Interior/Exterior styling are all American sites (Except, say volvotuning uk) but as such they are not a shop you can buy from etc.

Am I missing some important bookmarks for these UK stores for Volvo?

Hello All, I've view the site several times in the past, but now I finally registered. I own a 99 C70 conv and have had several problems which all were still covered by my extended warranty. The dealer has been wrong on several occasions about things that have been repaired and I'm just glad I only paid the deductible for services rendered. I had them state that my ignitions cylinder and immobilizer needed repair, when it was a bad starter. I had them state that I needed a new battery and taller tires to make the tracs light go out, but it still comes on sometimes after following their recommendation. Additionally I had lights sporadically staying lit and going out, but the dealer always says that there were none illuminated during the service test drive.

Currently I am experiencing a squeak that sounds like a door hinge when I turn the steering wheel. Power steering fluid level are fine and nothing appears to be loose or rusted I know that some have had the same problem and recommended grease for the problem. Are any other lubricants advisable???? Maybe spray-on types similar to WD-40 instead of going to the dealer for a lube job.

Unfortunately, my schedule eliminates time to waste in the dealership for what they referred to as "hiccups." Just want to save some frustration if at all possible!!!

My sister has a 2004 C70, and I have had a crappy couple of months, overlooking her birthday and Christmas. I want to get her some accessories for her car, and I am specifically looking for all of the options for:
1) iPod (no FM modulators unless nothing else is available)
2) Bluetooth
3) Satellite Radio
I've looked around and it seems that only over the past couple of years have these options become available for the C70. Am I missing something? I don't mind aftermarket stuff, but I prefer OEM where available, and I want tight integration with the car. Even Blitzsafe and PIE don't seem to have anything available - but this could be my oversight.
