Okay I have a 99 S80 T6 and I have a HU-801 installed with a single in-dash CD. Now I have seen it a couple of times on the web (i.e. cardomain.com) and I have seen on ebay a wiring harness for the car and I am now seriously considering getting a double-din unit for my car. The stereo that I want will be a double-din touchscreen with sat nav and so forth.

Please help me with this problem: My S80 starts and drives fine on autogas - even in very cold 3-4 degrees outside. Then after a while its stalls by cutting off the engine compleletly.
When I switch immediatly to petrol; it continues to work fine. I have tried switching back to auto-gas to find out the engine cuts off me completly.

Hi. Recently my 2004 S80 have been acting strangely.
When I turned the ignition on the Boot Open warning would come on, and indeed the boot was open. It seemed initially that using the remote key to open the doors was the problem, but then I noted that it would happen if I used the key itself, or the extra key, so the unlocking mechanism seemed to be the problem.

Hello i am having some trouble when i turn on my heat i smell this weird smell its not antifreeze but its very weird. It kinda of smells like that stuff that you put on a toothache but not that strong. as long as i leave the heat off i dont smell it, but as soon as i turn it on it starts. Yesterday I was driving in Boston and was squeezed to the right by another driver and swiped a barrier that hit my passenger side mirror. The mirror folded in, the glass poped out but stayed attached by the wires, the front facing plastic body part disappeared. I just bought an '04 S80 and the car idles at around 7000 to 8000 RPM, is this normal. I normally drive a Chevy Pickup which idles at under 5000 RPMs, so it seems high to me.

I had it in to have the transmission fluid and filter changed.The tech dropped the pan and found large pieces of the clutch plates in it.They road tested it and said everything still seems to be working fine but recommend i have it rebuilt before major damage happens.repair estimated at $1000,anyone have any idea how long...

Hope that soebody in the forum could help me out with this problem:
When I turn on my HU-801 stereo the display shows "Reversing Aid". After approx. 5 min the message disappears and the sound returns back.

What is the problem and why is the message "Reversing Aid" displayed? How can I solve the problem?

My S80 2.9 yr 01, radio player built in power amplifier keep working on eventhought i push the button off. i did ask a technician to open and found the built power amp. keep on and warm.

any idea, experience.. what to do ... some of my friend said to clean on off switch button.

After reading a little it says the shift time of 2nd to 3rd gear occurs around 25-86 mph... Mine shifts 100% of the time into 3rd at 20 miles an hour. 1st to 2nd gear is 10 mph and it seems when working 3rd to 4th is 35 mph..... is this right? Should my 2nd gear be going past 40 MPH? So, I thought it was rough shifting but after driving on the highway today, I realized that 1st 2nd and 3rd gear are fine. It is when shifting into 4th(automatically or tip tronic) that it struggles. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has any car alarm problem on their 99 S80 2.9? Every time I activate the alarm, the hazard lamp blinks and a small beeping sound triggers for a couple minutes right after 5 minutes.

Are there any solutions to this? I currently don't want to take this to a volvo dealer since there's no warranty on it anymore.

Hi. I have a 199 Volvo S80 and had the transmission service required light come on. I had the transmission service done at a repair shop, but the Transmission service required error message in the text window is still on. How do I reset or clear the messages in the text window area so it does not come up every time I start the car?

I had a towing company come and pick up my s80 t6 and bring it to the volvo dealership.
It was there for three days the couldn't figure it out..the fourth morning they called me and told me the car was ready.
It turns out it was the ETM (throttle body... ) It was a recall so no money involved. AWESOME !!! but however in there three days of trying to figure out...

I went with the car to a volvo shop repair and they teste it with the computer so is show two faults: brake pedal sensor and Traction control module. How can I look and see what color my tag is on the ETM? My friend said he got the computer service done for free on the car I just bought, but I don't know if that means they just upgraded the software or left the crappy ETM in there. Where can I look and see? thanks once again!

The car will start up without issues every now and then. Usually, I crank it but it doesn't start. I can do this many times without it starting. About the time I start thinking about finding my AAA car, I turn the key and it starts up without a problem. I do have a code that comes up on the obd2 scanner of P1550. My ABS light has been on for a long time too and the brake light comes on...

Hello - Took a nice little drive from VA to NH, no worries on the trip up. Coming home is a different story. Started out at -9 degree F in NH at 9AM and put some hardcore miles under me at normal Volvo speeds (80++). Normal, right? Anyway hear a dull thud and all the lights came on. I spent a good 2hours on the side of I-81 in PA.

I checked out the car and drove it. Runs great, everything looks awesome. Had the oil leak and computer fixed, and it also seems that the timing belt is real new. Is the timing belt located on the left side of the engine? If so that belt looks new/good condition. Even though this is not the car, is the timing belt located on the left of this picture? I have a 2004 S80 and got a flat right rear tire yesterday evening. When I went to change it today, I followed the normal procedure. Once I got all the lug nuts removed and tried to pull off the tire, the tire will not come off as if it is locked into place. It won't budge at all. Is there some sort of lock or security feature that releases the tire? Any help is most appreciated. Thanks.

Just bought my daughter a 2001 S80 2.9 and have had it three days. Today she came home after driving appx 30mins and when she shut off the car, the radiator fan continued to run for another 10mins, even though the car was off??

Anyone ever hear of this? If so - is this *normal*?

I have owned 3 S80's over the past 6 years. Now I have come to replace my current car and I cannot have TV as I have had before. All other manufacturers are offering digital TV now. Why have Volvo stopped it alltogether

I forgot to tell that they check up the presure of the furl and it is very hogh 55. HELP.

The large black plastic under engine cover has always been a PITA to me especially when serviciing (oil/filter change)..
I have'nt seen an American made vehicle with this, (possible the newer ones) and wondering is it absolutely necessary to cover this area...I understand the protection it affords, but is all the trouble worth the effort..??
