These are Volvo instructions.
Remove
The oil dipstick and its pipe.
The splashguard under the engine.

Drain the oil and remove the oil filter.
Release the oil cooler from the sump.Hang up at the rear.
Remove the screw from the bracket for the fuel line.


Removing the oil sump(oil pan)

Slacken off all screwsholding the oil sump.

Brake Booster replacement:

First start by Disconnecting the Battery.

Then open the hood and remove the Upper torque mount cross member.

Next remove the Air filter housing.

The remove the Big Cover over the Relay/fuse panel under the hood.
Once the cover is off remove the 13mm nut for the Positive cable.

Then remove the 2 screws...

Hi. Could any one sudgest on how to replace the fuel filter on my 1999 S80 T6.
In the Vadis Software instructions it says that I have to drain the fuel system.
That is too complicate or me. Maybe there is an easie way.
Can I just do the following as I have done on my 2001 Ford Windstar:
1: While the car is idling remove the fuel pump relay (the engine will stop)

I've had the refrigerant checked out by a transport (lorry) refrigeration engineer - all is fine. The compressor is kicking in and the air con is cooling somewhat. The passenger side is cooler than the driver side. If the fan is turned down it cools slightly more. I have checked both the filter and the cabin pollen filter. Neither affects the air con.

My guess is that it is related...

Hi, I bought a 2004 Volvo S80 last year and after about 60 days I noticed a rattle noise (almost like I need shocks/struts) under the front end on bumpy roads, parking lots, etc. I have taken this problem to the Volvo dealer in town and after an entire day, they say they cannot hear it. Recently our S80 (2.4 non turbo) has developed a stalling issue. The car starts normally and ticks over smoothly; as soon as the clutch is released the car stalls. (This rarely reoccurs after restarting). New plugs fitted and throttle body cleaned. This used to happen very occasionally but now occurs at least one a day.
Any Ideas or suggestions welcomed

Car: 1999 S80 T6

The cable for the hood release broke and I cannot open the hood. This is somewhat urgent because the car is overdue for an oil change and some other maintenance, plus fixing the cable. Does anyone know of a way to get the hood open? I am very comfortable with mechanics, if that helps any, I have just never worked on a Volvo.

Just bought a 2001 S80 T6. Car has 113000 miles. Only paid 5000.00 thought I was getting a good deal but I am having a problem when starting out at a stop sign or street light. Seems like the cars turbo kicks in way to soon and jumps out of the hole, NOT SMOOTH. I have read all the posts about the ecm and etm. My problem kinds of sounds like this. On the highway its smooth,great acceleration....

I found a '99 S80 for sale that is supposedly in great shape, but has no overdrive. I tried to do a search and found very little both here and on google. So whats the story? Should I expect to replace the transmission, or is this a common thing? I'm guessing it's not as simple a fix as the 240/740 OD problems of the past.

Hello everyone. Could use some help on my air conditioning. The wife and I were taking a trip and the weather turned warmer for this time of year and I put the air on for the first time. Just blowing warm air. After coming home I looked at all the fuses I thought were connected to the air conditioning. They all looked good. I looked at the ones underneath the hood and couldn't find a bad one....

I have a 2002 s80 t6. The key fob stopped working the other day so I went and got the battery replaced but it didn't fix it. I ck'd the fuses and everything looks good. That night I noticed now my vanity mirrors are out and the sunroof doesn't work. I know from the manual they all seem to be related. turned key to position 1
pressed and held odometer reset and turned key to pos 2.
held until light flashed 3 times and turned key to off
released odometer reset.

Is there someine who knows the suitable size of the alloy wheels for my 1999 S80 2.5tdi? The current wheels are 215/55/R16. I am not sure if I can use 18' alloy wheels. I can see other size wheels indicated on the door of fuel tank. They are 205/55/R16, 225/50/R17.

Last night I gave the car a clean on the inside. Today it wont start. the engine turns ok so its not battery but the fuel isnt getting to the engine.

My 99 s80 had the right turn signal get stuck on. I turned the motor on a off and it was still stuck on. drove for 20 miles to my destination and when I restarted it a few hours later the signal was clear, but now both signals do not work or any of the other steering wheel controls, ie. Cruise, volume, messaging, etc. The ony thing working is windshield wipers. Any ideas??
