I am replacing my ETM on my 99 S70. For the software upgrade, I need to get my computer or ECM flashed, thus I need to remove it. Does anyone know where it is located? Under the main fuse box? I have to remove the computer because I am having it re-programmed cheaply (not by the dealer)... Thanks.

Just had my V70R serviced. It was the 80,000 mile expensive one (almost £500). Add to that £200+ for new rear disks with all the bits and I've just parted with £720. So far no problems, if I wanted cheap I'd drive a Micra.

the dash computer flashes "disc" for a few seconds, then back to the temperature-
I can't find anything regarding this- could it be as simple as the cd player not reading a disc? i tried different cds and it still shows up- could it be a brake issue?

7 weeks ago my V70 T5 (year 2000) started to misfire at startup. The misfiring goes on for about 30-40 seconds and only occurs when the engine is really cold. Hi,there.My 740 volvo busted its transmission cooler,result milkshake in transmission.Do not wish repeat performance on my 1998 v70,has anyone fitted a seperate transmission cooler to these cars,that is not plumbed into existing cooler,my only concerns are sufficient cooling using this method.btw 740 flushed,pan and filter cleaned,so far so good.Car has done 280k,Regards Colin

I have been told to move the switch on when driving etc, but it does not do anything when I switch it on. Could it be a fuse or something else? Where are the fuses kept for the cruise control because it isnt where the rest of them are

After inserting a cd, in the 3 cd cassette, into my CD player, it didn't play and when I tried to eject, after much whirring of gears and movement of the cassette I got an error message 'Error 2 CD 3'. Anyone got any idea what this means..and how easy or espensive it might be to fix.

I am in the market for a used s70 (98-00) I have found a lot of vehicles in the price range i plan to spend 7500.00 max. I have read a lot of reviews and know what i am to look for but have one question that may seem silly.

On a high end for milage with the S70 or volvo's for that matter, how many miles do these things get in a lifetime if maintained well?

RE: 99 S70, At times I must be right in front of the car for the remote to work. I have changed the battery with no results, any ideas.

Our 1999 v70 (based in damp and not very cold Devon UK) has been a poor cold starter all along. Not every time - but enough to be worrying. I have mentioned this to the dealers but they say everthing is fine.

I wonder if anyone else has a similar experience and has found our what the problem is ? I'd be grateful for any suggestions

Over the last few months I've noticed it takes a lot of pedal travel to engage the brakes on my V70GLT. Could this be a due to a vacuum leak, a defective ABS module, or something more serious? I've had the brakes bled and it didn't improve the problem. When you pump the brakes once or twice in close intervals there is less pedal travel required. Any help would be great!

My S70 has been making wierd noises when I've been turning. Like a loud rusty noise, sometimes like a vibrating whack sound. I checked the power steering and thats not even close to needing to be refilled. Any gueses?
