Hello there i have just recently bought a volvo V70 t5 it has got the geartronic option gearbox, the problem is that its giving me 12 mpg city driving and this is driving normally without flooring it, i have tried switching fuels and filled it up with bp unleaaded premium but it this has not made any difference whats so ever, can anyone out there help me?

New member - Hi folks - with a problem of course......!!

2003 V70 D5 suddenly puts up dashboard message 'check brake lights'. I do so, neither side working, so assume its the bulbs (both at once....??) and replace. Still out. High level LED bar on tailgate working fine by the way.

Check fuses - boot fuse box no.3 and 14 intact (as identified from handbook)...

While removing the sun shield, the rear view mirror popped off on my 2004 XC70 ! The post popped out of its retaining clip! The mirror seems to be fine, but is now dangling by its electrical cord. Who knew that sun shields were so vicious?

Does anyone have a reference for what to do to get at the circular retaining clip so I can replace the mirror? A page from a...

I have a 2002 FWD V70. I need advice about how to access the Parking Brake adjustment. screw I have found instructions for other Volvo Models but I have not found anything for mine. There does not seem to be an obvious way to access the adjuster and I don't want to break any plastic with random prying.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Hope someone can help. I have reclined my rear seta behind drivers seat today, when I went to put it back up the seat belt had retracted and I now cannot reatract and it is fixed tight and stuck. How can I get the seatbelt to move? so I can get the seat back up. HELP? Thank you

Anyone know if a faulty fuel pump relay will cause a no start? I tried the diagnostic and the only code I got was a 132 in socket six. Socket 2 proved no problem. The funny thing is that this all began after a high pressure car wash and ten after sitting a no start. Then after about hour and a half with hood open it started Then a small rain shower, same deal...Now no start, it's like there is...

Sometimes when I get out of my 38,000 miles 2005 XC 70 miles after driving, I can smell burnt oil coming from the engine area. I change my own oil (very fussy and enjoy it), so I see the underside of the engine without the belly pan. I can see no oil leaks nor do I leave any oil spots when parked. I keep hearing about turbo return line - need some opinions.

Has anyone used E85 or other Ethanol blends in their V70 XC (2002 or similiar)? What, if any, conversion steps were required? Were there any problems?

With the prospect of very inexpensive alcohol fuel becoming available later this year, we're very interested in running our cars on a mixture of mostly alcohol and as little gas as possible. Thanks in advance for any help.

1999 V70 2.4 petrol. Sluggish at low revs, although goes fine in 3rd with foot to the floor. Gives the impression that the more you push it, the slower it goes. Very kangarooish at low revs (say, from traffic lights) and it's struggling to climb up the revs...

I just purchased a 2007 V70XC that has the shopping bage storage compartment in the cargo area. Can anyone recommend a cargo mat that is flexible so that we can still use the shopping bage storage?

I have just found my rear tailgate does not lock, I only have keys for locking no key fob and wondered if there is a common fault? I presume that is why alarm red led does not work when car is locked?
I have ordered a key fob but I think it will not work as the tailgate is open?
Are there any switches or sensors, the dash display says tailgate open when I open it and goes...

I have had a Volvo mechanic look at this and he mentioned the tailgate is locking ok. There is a problem with the sensor system for the tailgate which the Volvo tech claims will take many hours to diagnose!!!! ($$$)

I have a 2003 D5 S V70 with a unusual problem. It has blown out a core plug in the casing and has blown the lower rubber turbo intake hose.

When i take the oil filler cap off it smokes like crazy and makes a popping sound. Smoke also comes out of the dip stick when i remove this.

I have just bought a 1200 kg caravan but have no idea what tyre pressures to put in these tyres.

Current driving with 2 adults, a child and dog are 30psi in front and 29 in rear.

My V70 2001 is currently showing a much too low outdoor temperature each one of three time I turn on the engine. If I turn off the engine after a while and turns it on again, the temperature is read correctly.

I guess the outdoor temperature sensor is either dirty or is a little loose.

Does anyone know where the outdoor temperature sensor is located?

After 18 months and 11,000km the brakes on my 2006 XC70
shudder badly. Dealer has traced to heavy corrosion on rear

My V70 was quite low on fuel so, I pulled into a gas station to fill, but the gas door wouldn't open even though I had all the doors in the Central Locking System unlocked as per the user's manual.

This is a problem on my 2 yr old V70 bi-fuel of entire system failure whilst driving - this takes place at about 20 to 25 mph in LPG mode and causes the engine to cut out, loss of brakes and loss of powerstreering. I believe this is a very dangerous design fault in either my particular V70 or the LPG system as a whole.

Thought I was only getting 5 months out of the lowbeam bulb I changed in January, but it is actually the plastic housing on the end of the wires that's shot. I have a late 2001 V70 D5 manual (believe actually 2002 model year). Now over 100k miles, regularly serviced and had cambelt replaced. (Not with volvo dealer)

At low revs the engine rumbles and rattles and sounds too loud. This got slightly better by replacing the fan belt, but the noise seems to be getter louder again.

I have an issue with my air con and wondered if anyone knows what it may be.
When the air con is turned on the flow through the two passenger vents (left hand side) is far colder than the drivers side (right hand drive).

Is there a way to reset the air con or could it be a temp sensor?
