Brake Booster replacement:

First start by Disconnecting the Battery.

Then open the hood and remove the Upper torque mount cross member.

Next remove the Air filter housing.

The remove the Big Cover over the Relay/fuse panel under the hood.
Once the cover is off remove the 13mm nut for the Positive cable.

Then remove the 2 screws...

This is a problem on my 2 yr old V70 bi-fuel of entire system failure whilst driving - this takes place at about 20 to 25 mph in LPG mode and causes the engine to cut out, loss of brakes and loss of powerstreering. I believe this is a very dangerous design fault in either my particular V70 or the LPG system as a whole.

Its sunroof is stuck in the vent position and will not close. My local volvo dealer says it is a wiring fault from the codes they have read! I have an issue with my air con and wondered if anyone knows what it may be.
When the air con is turned on the flow through the two passenger vents (left hand side) is far colder than the drivers side (right hand drive).

Is there a way to reset the air con or could it be a temp sensor?

I have a 2002 xc70. I also have a couple of motorcycles I'd like to tow in an aluminum trailer, but some say that, at 2000 pounds, and thru western mountains, it will hurt the Automatic transition.
Any comments to that?

After riding my Volvo V70 AWD (1998) 2.4l with the light pressure turbo for three months I have found it does not have the same "kick" in it as my old Volvo 855T5 (1995).
For the 855 2.3l there's a turbo replacement unit made by Mitsubishi. Which improves the breathing and respons. Is there any similar replacement for the Volvo V70 with the light pressure turbo?

I have a V70 D5 Auto and it is intermittently smoking (alot). It seems to be most noticeable between 1500 and 2500 revs and the revs flutter when it happens. It is OK if you rev hard or idle and does not appear to loosing power except when the revs flutter. Been serviced but it is still happening. Any ideas?

We have a 2002 V70 T5 with an integrated GSM phone. We have bought a SIM card for it and when we insert it in the phone and turn it on we get the "Please Wait" message. can't seem to get it to start up. The technician thinks it might be a faulty control module (replacement cost $3000 NZD so not going there!) but we're wondering if the SIM card needs to be registered...

Did anybody get a letter from Volvo yet regarding them reimbursing dealers and people who already had their ETM replaced???

Hello I just bought my first Volvo a 2001 V70 XC I like it alot I just have a few problems.

1. My interior dome lights turn on when I open the door to get in and out. But they won't turn on when I push the button to turn them on while I am driving or parked.

2. I have no backlight behind one of the knobs on the dash that controls the heat temp so makes it hard to see at...

Bought my 2002/52 D5 volvo V70 in 2004 at 85000 miles. Problems with the driver info module (DIM) started in 2005; Volvo said car was out of warranty and problem would cost megabucks to fix.

What happens is I'll be driving with the A/C on, and shut the car off when I get home. I come outside later to hear the heater/A/C fan running. If I key on and key off again, it seems to go away.

It's not a huge deal, but I'm afraid some day it will kill the battery.

The air conditioner / heater system in my 2004 XC70 developed a moldy odor during the summer months. Now, after four months of heater-only winter driving, it still smells! Any suggestions on the proper clean-out of the residual mold? And, how to prevent a recurrence?

I installed an Alpine head unit in my 2001 V70 T5 with new wire harness adapter. Radio works fine but now "SRS Airbag Needs Service" message came on. Did I disconnect something inadvertently or is this standard when disconnecting the radio harnesses? I checked my OBD2 codes and none stored. I stupidly banged my head into the sunroof of my 2001 Volvo V70 T5 over the weekend. When I opened and closed the sunroof to check and make sure I didn't hurt it, it sliced off one of the levels of the plastic accordion pieces on the side and that piece doesn't push back with the sunroof anymore. Is that an easy part to replace? If so, what is it called and where could I get one?

The drivers window poweres up and down with one click either way but the passenger window only powers down with one click.

You have to hold the button to power all the way back to the top.

The fuel gauge on my 2001 V70 has stopped registering and at the same time my rear doors including the hatch have stopped automatically locking and unlocking. "Bulb Failure Dipped Beam"

This message is coming up on my dash. Is it just a case of me having a light bulb out?

If so, how do I find out which bulb (left or right) it is? Both high beams work and parking lights work, but both low beams don't. Also, how easy is it to change a light bulb. Never done that before.
