I am waiting for my new S40 with an IPod/USB interface, now I do not own, nor want to, own a IPod. So I ordered it for a 2.5 inch USB powered external HDD.
Its a 120GB FAT32 storage device.
Now I can not seem to find any confirmation that it actually will play the music. Can anyone confirm that this setup will work?

I did see some reviews that not all USB mass storage devices...

Hey guys, just joined this forum after a buddy of mine was having problems with his HID conversion kit he bought for his 2007 S40.. Well it seems we have gotten a kit that is 100% plug and play and does not require any drilling, homebrewing resistor packs etc.

Will have photos and final details when the install is done, hopefully I can offer some information on these Kits to you guys as...

Hi everyone, I am having problems getting my HID kit to work on my 2005 S40 2.4i. The kit is 35watts @ 8,000k everything is all wired and set up already. The Hid stays solidly lit for about 10 secs, after that it starts flickering and on my dash it says a message about my low beam bulb is out. SOME ONE PLEASE HELP...

Is there any other way to get the warrantee to cover it?

I have an 06 S40 that I have had for a week. I got into the car this morning and the drivers door window control panel would not work and neither would the unlock button. I went into the menu on the radio and set the door auto unlock off and then back on and the problem seems to be fixed. Anyhow I was just wondering if this control panel not working properly was a common problem?

I am looking to add a fm modulator to my 2004.5 s40 t5. i was reading in the big fm thread that there is a white box in the front, which i found. What i really want to no is what is the easiest way with out cutting wires(if any) to install a fm modulator.

Got my Volvo HIDS working by bypassing the PWM signal from the headlights but what is the resistor level to correct the bulb out?

HIDS use 35watts, volvo senses 55watts. Been told i need a 20watt 15ohm resistor? I understand the 20watt bit as the car is 12v, but why / or how have they calculated 15ohm?

Confusing. I have a 10watt 15ohm wirewound resistor already...

I few month ago I got a GPS Garmin nuvi 670 unit and recently a 350 for my wife.
Since I had a GPS on a rental durring a trip in France I had to have one!
It has really become handy even if it is just to know where I am when looking for places, to found short cuts durring heavy traffic or simply to drive through unknown streets while trying to park for example.

I am in search of a color matched bumper cover. Just got my first S40, at discounted price with cracked bumper cover. Volvo is quoting me $450 for the unit. I'm new to this forum and i'm just curious if anyone out there has modified or installed a new exhaust system on their T5. I see that Eurosport Tuning has a really nice setup for $800 but i'm almost positive that one could be done for a lot cheaper! If you have pics to go along with your stories that would be great! I'm gathering information and supplies for painting the big plastic parts on my '06 S40s engine. I'll be going with red to match my exterior paint while leaving the "VOLVO" label black (can't find high heat resistant chrome/silver). Well hello folks. My first problem post. Thought I had nothing better to do yesterday morning but jump in the car get it started and all warmed up to take my son to school. But to my surprise I was confronted with "KEY ERROR...PLEASE TRY AGAIN", so I did and again and again with both keys, no joy. I have noticed that over the past 6 months, whenever it rains and I make my first LEFT turn, water comes pouring in onto my left foot.

Does anyone know what this is caused by? How to fix it? Would this be covered by Warranty?

Im taking delivery of a 2008 Spec S40 T5 soon. I regret not having ordered it with the GSM phone option (I detest bluetooth - Neither my Nokia nor Parrot built in kit has ever worked RELIABLY on ANY of my different phones over the years).

I just bought my 2006 S40 a week ago. They only had a few left and none of them had the aluminum center and door trims. So I bought the aluminum trim set off of ebay and they'll be coming in a few days.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove the center and the door trims? I don't see any screws or anything. I'm gonna start prying away at it...

I have an S40 with a plain black plastic console. I want to dress it up with an aluminum inlay console which I can get for $115. Does anyone know of a place to find this inlay cheaper? The four screws that hold console have a strange head. Is there a special screwdriver that is needed for the job?

I have a 2006 S40 and over the last two weeks have developed two problems.

The external temp sensor shows inaccurate readings.
Overnight start has it at --- or -40 F.
Readings fluctuate off and on and after a few stops/starts it becomes OK.

The remote door locks on and the entire control panel on the driver door go dead at random. The window controls and locks...

Have new 2008 S40 2.4i, now 4,500 miles.

Last night got into the car at the parking lot after running a few errands and would not start. Message on the screen said "immobilizer" which I assume to be something with the alarm.

I got out, locked the car a few times then unlocked and after a couple tries it finally started and drove fine since.

I have a new 06 T5 and noticed that the oustide mirrors are not responding to the remote as the manual says they should. Depending on the remote, the seats will adjust as they should but the mirrors do not. Any of you experience this and what was the fix?

K&N has not officially came out with an intake for the 2007 models yet, but I keep hearing that it is safe to put the 2006 intake kit in b/c nothing has changed in the engine between the 06 and 07.
