i have lost my volvo s40 key and need a replacement. the dealership has quoted me $400 - $270 for the actual unit and $130 for software and download - anyone know any cheaper method of replacing the ignition key or is the dealership the only way?

I just recently bought a used 2004.5 S40 with 12,000 miles. I love it! However I have noticed a funny noise when I turn the wheel, not a squeak, but more of a "grunting" type sound if that makes any sense at all. Other than that it is great! Anyone know what I am talking about? Thanks!

Who here knows who makes the sound systems in particluar the hi-performance audo system for the new s40 t5? Realy interested cause they give good sound and maybe we can e-mail them to push for the iPod connectivity.

How do you change the average speed in the Volvo RTI system? It seems likte the RTI system doesn't get it from the normal average speed information.

Is there any way to fix this. The system can't show the right destination time because of the average speed is wrong.

I can't find anything about that in the manual or in the menysystem in the RTI interface.

I have a 2005 Volvo S40 2.4i. I tried to install an aftermarket HID kit on my car. When the car is off the lights come on fine, but when I crank the engine the lights continuosly flash and the car says low beam failure. What could be the problem?

My 16 month old S40 6-speed AWD has what Volvo has called a "unique" problem. When I turn the car off, the key will not turn all the way to the left, so I can't remove it. If I wait five minutes or so, it will work properly. Of course, the Volvo dealer has had it for a week and it will act up for them. Anyone heard of this problem?

Hey Guys, How is everybody doing? My question is, do the S40 T5's get any benefit from fitting a K & N or BMC Flat Panel Filter into the airbox instead of the stock paper filter? Anybody had any bad experiences? Previously I have always used a K & N in my cars, no dramatic power gains, just I feel they filter better than a paper filter.

We watched the CD supplied with our new car. The CD talks about memory for each unique Key fob. It's supposed to adjust the mirrors and drivers seat to the settings as they were .."when last locked with that key" when you unlock the car. So when you open the doors with the fob, it resets seat and mirrors to settings that were, when the car was last locked with THAT fob.
