I can't open my trunk. It seems it is stuck in the lock position. I tried to see if something was stuck where the lock is, by pulling down the back seat and looking in the trunk. There isn't anything stuck. I tried to see if there is a release mechanism in the trunk, but I can't seem to find it. The manual hasn't been much help either.

I wonder if anyone has experienced anything like this, bascially I have got a Volvo S40 and over the last week or so and it has started to take on some new characteristics.

Here what is happening at the moment.

When the car is left parked, it sometimes seems to reset some of the stuff in the car like the clock, the computer which measures the distance...

I've acquired a Volvo CD Changer, with the intention of fitting it to my S40.

There don't appear to be any connections in the boot, and I was wondering if anyone was aware of the cables/fittings I'd need to connect things up.

The driver's side power seat has quit working on my 2001 S40. Fuse under hood checks good. All functions have stopped (fore and aft, up and down, seat back tilt). Is there another fuse for the seat adjustment system? Any other ideas?

Hi I own a 2000 S40 and I want to know if i can progam by myself a keyless remote for my car?

Having a few prob's here, not sure if they're all connected or not. I've never worked on my S40 to any great extent, so not too familiar with it.

Firstly, when the engine idles, the rev's are not steady, they drop from around 750rpm to 400ish rpm then returns back to 750, drops, rises, drops, rises, you get the idea. It's not the tach, you can hear the engine speed...

i have read past entries to this forum re knocking noises in different parts of car and everyone seems to have a problem with noise when turning...well i have what seems to be the same problem but when driving straight and more often at low speeds. just seems to be a knocking noise from somewhere in suspension. it is not engine. sounds like a part of exhaust is loose or banging if you can imagine...

The light/lights that indicates P R N D L on my S40 is out.

Before digging in to the console/shifter area I wanted to find out if
there are any tricks to gain access to these lamps.

Had an unusual thing happen yesterday. I was puttering through traffic in 3rd gear doing about 40-50km/h and when I put my foot down 3/4 on the throttle, the car seemed to splutter and then surge. I managed to make the car do it a few times. It concerned me so I pulled over and lifted the hood to see if anything was amiss.

I have a 2000 V40 with ~74K miles. At ~70K it developed a starting problem. If it is cold out it starts right up first thing in the morning. With some great posts here, I was able to remove the fascia. However, I can't turn or pull out the climate control to get to the rear to remove the bulbs. Do I have to remove the radio as well (If so, I don't know the code if I have to enter it again). Any help would be appreciated.

My V40 has developed an oil drip. The owners manual states there is a PVC valve. I thought maybe this might be the culprit.
