I Have a 1982 264 GLE which the Bosch Alternator in it has just FUBARED itself Majorly the alt warning light remains on but gets brighter as you acclerate harder any ideas?

I need some help in removing my dash on the 262c. I want to replace all the wiring with new. Do I have to remove the complete centre console and everything? Any help would be appreciated. The reason I am doing this is that my fuel gauge and temp gauge are reading at the max. Replaced fuses, not sure what else could be causing the problem. Possibly a short somewhere.

after 14 years our volvo motor corroded through the engine block, so i fitted vn commodore engine and transmission , what a difference, much more power better economy cheaper to maintain. has anyone else done a similer conversion ?
