Then i bought my volvo, this pipe (1) was already mising. I searched in internet and found that this pipe goes to evap system filter. But the pipe (2) goes also to filter. How it conects in real?

The problems i am experiencing are as follows:-

Car starts fine,But isn't too happy idling,sounds as if it's missing in lower revs it'll run as long as you want but either way isn't happy idling if I turn it off and try and start it again it'll turn over but won't start When doing this (refusing to start)...

hl does anybody out there know how to wind back the pistons on volvo 440 2ltr rear calipers?? Got the discs on but cant get new pads on i was told by a mechanic i'd need a special tool specific for this car. Is he talking s**t???

OK well it failed at first, but just on a tyre and two bulbs, one in the dash which they wouldnt do, so I sat in their car park and swapped bulbs around until all the vital ones worked, then had a free retest and passed, another year of life for my '92 440 yeehaa.

1) When I select D after starting, it engages in a very jerky way - the whole dashboard shakes up and down for a second. This only happens in D, not in R.

It seems a great car, very impressed however after charging the battery the car turns over but will not start. It was started a month ago (i'm told) Half of the point of the car is for me and my bro in law to fix it up so could you recommend a check list of ways to get her going!

Managed to find diagnostic codes for my 440, but was curious what the numbers on the actual diagnostic unit refer to.
The site i pulled the codes from (for 89'-93' model 440's) said #2 was 'Fuel Codes'.
But on my 95' model, it seems to be #1 for the same, unless i'm reading it wrong.

Can anyone tell me what the numbers 1-7 on the box...

Hi - I'm new to this forum so i thought i would make a post and a plee for help on replacing the seats in my 480es.

It says in the Haynes that I need to make the front seat belts safe before I can take them off. I know that I have to disconnect the battery but what else is there to do in order to remove the seats safely.

hi all, i have a volvo 460 1990 model that has broken the clutch cable three times. i put a heavy duty cable thinking it will do the job but to no avail. i replaced the clutch and pressure plate and also replaced the release bearing but it has made no difference. am at a total loss.. when the car warms up the pedal becomes very stiff and hard to press. does anybody out there know what to do????

ive got a 440 1.9 turbo diesel and was wondering if any one has been running theres on biofuels or a mix of 50% diesel 50% vegtable oil and how the car runs

hmm, my power just went off for trip computer, radio, central locking, clock and lamp on the top of the car (inside). i checked all the fuses, and all are OK. every else works fine. i tried to connect + to the raio light, and every thing works fine. so i am wondering, are there any hidden fuses in the dashboard? or is there a relay for this.

Hi! I've '91 460 turbo and in the back spoiler there is a space that i think that is for an aditional bracking light. is There a way to put a brake light in the spoiler? how do i wire it?
I'm asking this because i have a friend who says it is complicated because the light sensor would enter in conflit if i put another bracking light.

Can anyone help me find a replacement driver side seat belt for my 1995 Volvo 460? I live in Naples Italy. All the numbers that I found on the belt are: 461124,
Autoliv 570120100, Ar4mp. and there was a little sticker on the top of the pulley part of the belt that had 9503 on it.

Any assistance is appreciate. the belt will not let out or retract.

I am a mechanic (but only work on Nissans usually) but my Sister drives an old Volvo 440 1.8i . The car would occasionally get a flat battery for no apparent reason.

Last time however, she got the lady next door to give her a jump start. Car would not start and even with a freshly charged battery, it still won't start.

I wonder if she put the cables on...

I have a 440 Si 96 .....its a real beauty and i have had no previous problems. However now my indicators have just abruptly stopped working??!!!

I have checked the fuse and confrimed that this is ok! The hazzard light switch still works...

Well, here goes the story that let up to the problem.

Due to a broken glove box the glove box light stayed on and flattened the battery. Trying to start the car from another with booster cables failed. Simply wouldn't turn the starter motor. Finally I changed the battery and the car started fine. After a short test turned the ignition key and the engine stopped.

The operating switch in the centre console doesn't make the window move, and if i go over any bumps or when i close the door, the window drops about 25 - 30mm and stays there, it doesn't drop any further and the only way to get the window back up is to push it back up by hand.

hi recently noticed the small light on the dash that is on all the time with the side lights is not on anymore. the side lights still come one all the time as they should but this light has gone out. i did change a rear light bulb but i don't think it was off then and i didnt get the bulb out warning light come on. anyone have any ideas?
