Somebody knows if exists power kit power for the V50 2.0D?

I was wondering if there was a way to tune up the engine in my V50. I have the 2.4i (175 HP) engine, which does not have a turbo charger. Do chips exists for these kind of engines? Who makes them?

I love my V50 ... I have the sports package with the 17" rims and I'm looking to get snow chains but the factory chains are so expensive ... why do they insist you must use their spyder chains?

Yeah nice vehicle, sorta sportishhhhhh n got some nice features to offer like the CD changer, supportive seats, nice interiors n wot not…..?? all the stuff u’d drool over, at least I did, but one thing I somewhat dislike is the steering wheel should have bin little small/smart and with better stuff , to go with the luxurious interiors…!

We ordered a V50 AWD last November and it should be delivered in early February. This is our first Volvo and I'm wondering which dealer-installed accessories to order. I'll need a trailer hitch and also some way to carry bicycles. Does anyone have experience with the Volvo hitch? What about the roof-mounted bike carriers? Should we go with the square or wing-shaped load bars?

My V50 (purchased in June 2004) is equiped with 17" wheels and Continental Conti Sport 2 tyres. The two tyres on the back wheels were completely dead after 10000 kms, when the front tyres were quite OK.
Has anyone experienced such a premature wear of back tyres on the V50 or other S40 new model ?

Sorry about posting such a basic question...

I can't seem to find the option anywhere that would allow me to change the time...

Any help would be appreciated...

I am a futur owner of the newV50...( I am europeen and all generation in my family we own
a volvo...60/70/80.very succesfull in france..I am the youngest (27) and proud to joint the volvo " dysnaty"....)
I have a question, just curious but, do you think Volvo could plan to build ,in a close futur,
a model S40R or why not a V50R??
( the new S60R is just gorgeous with this blue tachometer, those 18" R wheels and very sporty steering wheel)...

I purchased a flint grey awd v50 this weekend and already drove 200 fun miles.

My car didn't come equipped with the Gentex auto dimming mirror and wanted to learn if anyone knows if the car is pre-wired to accept one.

Hello all! This is my first post and it's a doooosy!

Being the mechanically-challenged individual that I am, I knew something simple like replacing the trunk light would be something I could screw up. And that I did! As I was replacing the light back into the housing, I guess I actually touched metal to it. I thought the fuse blew because the light wouldn't work even with my backup fuse.

So I decided to leave AutoZone and head home. It's then that I noticed my interior lights not working and that the "door open" indicator remained lit all the way home. After reading the wonderful owners manual (that seems useless in most cases) I went to replace a blown fuse in the interior fuse box. And it seems they all are fine.

So now, it looks like the blown fuse may be in the engine compartment fuse box. I think it could be fuse number 8 (ECC, courtesy lights, ignition lock, Siren, Combined instrument panel) to replace. But there's also a warning attached to that fuse that says "before you pull up the transport fuse holder, make sure that you know the radiocode, since this code will be erased from the radio when pulling up the fuseholder.


Okay, help! Is this the right fuse? If so, how do I find out what my radiocode is? Do I have to call the dealership? I'm sure they'd love to charge me several hundred dollars to fix that fuse! I just hate to drive 100 miles there, pay an "idiot" charge, and return 100 miles to home.

Question on the soundsystem, are there any people arround using de CD/ MD combination ? And if so what is posible with regards to MP3, HiMD etc. etc. ?

I'm waiting to get my new V50 but I've been searching on Internet some information about it. I've found a lot of messages that expain a lot of problems with its engine specially with 1 gear. It seems like a power problem.
Could anybody tell me some about it ?

I have just taken delivery of a V50, and am having difficulty with the integrated phone facility.

I am using a Vodafone SIM from my 'pay as you go' phone and I can only recieve calls on it.

When I try to make an outgoing call, the phone symbol on the display is in the 'off-hook' position for a couple of seconds, then it returns to the on-hook position - the call is terminated. No error messages are produced anywhere.

I wondered about my call credit being low, but it wouldn't even let me make the connection to find out.

If anyone has any ideas, I would be greatful for them,

Is V50 based on a Ford platform?

It woul be great if a V50 user could tell me the turn radius
of the V50 (either in feet or in meter). Is it smaller than
5.5 meters ? This info is quite essential to me as my parking
place is rather small and a small turn radius would favour to
park easily. I already asked the Volvo dealer here but he
did not have this info handy...

My 2001Volvo50 has a centralized lock system but due to some reason its not working since a couple of days. I got it checked also but the mechanic told me there is some thing wrong with its computer. Is he right or just tryng to make me make more money from me.

At last I gota break fom those typical sedans n have a hatched-back car now… seriously this V50 is a breakthrough ..like its classy plus sporty…. woooSshhh I developed a prob … i just pushed the pause button, n when I wanted to play it again ..there came no response frum the CD changer…. I even tried toeject de Cd out…but it jus displays an “Ejecting” message n doesn’t do anything else…:S

Is woT I really like n its soo trendy….how it perfectly suits my small family….V50’s jus the ultimate wagon for me.! but astonishingly i found a very few numbers of this wagon on the road i dont know why.

Man wud u believeeeeee it if I told u there was a wagon in the market to look afta’ ur family’s health n safety……..??? nooo..!! ehHh… V50’s the wagon that i have experiences and I must say dat has dis unqiue feature…. they’ve used such kinda materials in their vehicle for interiors that won’t emit some unsafe substances egzema migranes eye irritations etc…! Excelllent jobbbb!!

V 50s a fine wagon…. Not that bad…hopin that it wud make a good repute for a European company….a classy wagon has a lot of room for the front passengers .......even the trunk size is biggerrr….i love it for its size and handling

Yeahhh worsssst cars of all, not only the car is worst the Volvo dealers are even worst :S… sometimes a no. of fuses wud just get dead, my fuel pump broke out, the light bulbs n alarm went out to.. n dat tooo on just 7,500 K.. wot a piece of garbage!!

The steering of my 98Volvov50 is too heavy. It requires a lot of strength to drive and turn cars on narrow roads. I think there is some thing wrong with its power system. I got checked the oil and every thing is normal what could b wrong there. whats r ur sgguestions comon.

My uncle came to see me last week. He got so crasy at my new Volvo S60 he is asking me to search a good condition used 98S60volvo . So I need an opinion where to find a good used car.

My volvo V50 has really fucked up at me... as in it locks dont work good in winters. I guess its only made for summers.. lolz...i have jus bought sometime ago and is this the result i got that i become helpless in winters but hmmm its not that bad to drive. Itz fun to have a journey on thsi car especially when ur wid ur freindz but let me know that now wht shud i do with its locks..

The AC filters of my Volvo50 are again damaged.I got it fixed and repaired just last month but again I am stuck in the same problem. I know I can get them fix from a nearby workshop but why should I spend so much on the filters each month . any one know how to service these filter. let me know plz.
