I have noticed that in some discussions it has been mentioned the 2007 models come with an MP3/WMA CD unit.

I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to have the CD unit replaced on 2005-2006 models with the MP3/WMA one and what is involved to do that.

Meanwhile I'll ask my Volvo dealer as well since I didn't have chance so far.

Since taking delivery of this vehicle in April I have intermittant failure of door locks, that is when locking doors only the passenger doors lock it takes numerous resets to work. The problem has recently got a lot worse and has had to be taken to Volvo dealership for further investigation. Has anyone else had similar problems.

I have bought my V50 with the standard music equipment (four speakers). I would like to change them and may be add some tweeters. I am trying to remove the covers from the doors but they are quite stiff and I am afraib of breaking something.
Does anybody knows how to take speakers covers?

My Volvo V50 has the most terrible smell after running. Seems to be from the exhaust. The model is a 2005 V50 2.0D.

I can only describe the smell as like rotting vegetables!

Hi hope someone can solve this one for me?
I installed another mutimedia unit into my V50 as the original one had been damaged by the previous owner.
It fitted in ok and the radio works, but when I press CD I get nothing on the display?
Does it need to be programmed in at the main dealer?

I have a 2005 V50 and it id about 15,000 km used. When open my V50 sunroof under 80 km/hr speed, it gives a very bad wind noise coming in the car cabinet from outside. Is there anyone also have this kind of problem. please share with me and any solutions can be solved.

First time posting here. I have a 2005 Volvo V50 and the key is stuck. It is stuck 1 click up. It's an automatic - I made sure it was in park, jiggled the steering wheel, took it for a drive, etc, etc. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

I have a 1999 S80 and only have one key for the car with no remote. Does anyone have any idea how much a key and remote be from the dealer? Does anyone else make keys for this car? I have only recently taken delivery of a V50 and have noted in the forum some mention of the difficulty folding the front passenger seat flat due to the headrest getting in the way and hitting the dashboard. I'm led to think by the local dealer in Pasadena, CA that these blades are only available from dealers; I doubt this.

I have been told that a "special wrench" is required to remove the oil filter cartridge on the '05 V50. Anyone know what type of wrench is required? I have heard that removing the filter is difficult and it is necessary to remove air intake, etc.?

Living in Canada, in winter we need to use a washer fluid that contains anti-freeze and I notice that every time the headlamp washers spray, some of the fine mist is sucked into the car via the front grill. The interesting thing is that apparently, the steel rims I'm looking for are only available OEM from Volvo. That's not too bad since the price is competitive.

Does any one have problems with there radio not working on cold mornings, the cd player is fine. Just the radio is completly dead until the car warms up ? Any clues

Just bought a used T5 AWD and have noticed a periodic rattle when going from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd ONLY!? The shifting is actually quite smooth and you do not hear anything through the higher gears. It almost sounds like something might be loose...anyone one have a similar experience or thoughts on what it might be?

My 05 V50SE (UK spec.) won't let me into the tailgate. The release button seems more like a diaphragm switch than a real button, and sometimes it just refuses to open. I usually open in what seems the natural way, with 3 or 4 fingers pressing the release, and lifting at the same time. Sometimes that works just fine.
When it won't release, Ive had success by prodding around the area...

Am I the only one that thinks that the key and windshield wiper control lever are in poor locations? When I put my key in the ignition, I tend to bump the wiper control lever, which activates the spray. This is extremely frustrating when you have just washed your car.
