The door hinge on my fuel filler door has broken. I ordered a new part which arrived with no instructions.

Can someone describe how to use the small pins (instead of screws) during installation which hold the hinge to the car body?

I have a buddy that is a mechanic and me and have been going back and forth about a 88 740 being interference or non interference motor. He gave me a timing belt book manual that says that pretty much all of volvo's motors are intereference and that in the event of a timing belt brake the pistons and what not will slam together causing you to need a new engine. Can someone settle this for me...

A few months ago I added some reflective strips to the bumpers, now a lot of it has become bitty, so now it looks pretty untidy and want to get rid of them, I've tried to just peel them off but they won't have any of it, how should I go about removing them without having to use some kind of tool and damaging the bumper?

I have a new(to me) 89 740 turbo wagon... I just had the heater core replaced and it runs great, but at night I have no lights in the gauge cluster... I dont think it is the bulbs, but I have not taken out the cluster yet. My uncle thinks it is the dimmer rheostat. I am having trouble with my power seat in my 760 Turbo Wagon. As a single Mom, I'm not too mechanically inclined....

Is there a fuse to replace if the electrical isn't working? I know where the main fuse box is located behind the ash tray, but I can't seem to find a listing for the seat.

Yo, im new to the volvo world, but anyways I ran outta gas the other day with my car, an after I put gas in it it wont start. I changed out the rear fuel pump with a new one, an when I turn the key it trys to start once. Im not gettin any power to the frame mounted pump...which relay is the fuel pump relay exactly, I know where theyre all at, but which one is it.

will the B230F out of the 1989 740 GL writeoff i bought plug up to the wiring inside a 1986 740 GL also with a B230F

the only reason i ask this is that the 1989 is fitted with the on board disgnostic LED system

will i need to transport this to the 86 as well essentially turning it into a 1989

My factory radio only works when it seems to catch a radio signal. Even if I play a tape it doesn't play unless it catches a frequency. Any ideas as to why this is hapenning. I asked car audio "experts" and they have no idea. Power antenna works fine all the wires are in place.

Hi all, I am a new member to this forum. Can anyone tell me how to make the fuel gauge of my 1990 Volvo GLE to work? Most of the time the needle stays at the zero mark, even after tank filled with gasoline. It will show the fuel level for a while then goes back to zero. There is no pattern to the on off behavior. i have read elsewhere and a few mod pages etc.. that by adding the cold start injector as a 5th injector can help boost performance.

i have the bosch k jetronic system in my 740 at the moment, the cold start injector is located on the inlet manifold and injects extra fuel in when it is cold to help start the engine.

My '89 740 GL wagon has over 200k and her latest task for me is to repair a power steering fluid leak (quite aggressive).
From the research that I have done so far, I have seen successes stories on rebuilds.
My question is:
Is it worth doing the rebuild over the replacement, and how difficult is the rebuild?

There is a difference of about $60 for a rebuilt...

I drive a 1988 volvo 760 gle v6. My problem is that in the middle of driving and without warning the car will just shut off. I don't have any problems starting it and driving again. If anyone is familiar with the reason as to why this occurs please advise.
