Greetings. I'm starting to look for a V90/960 wagon. Wikipedia says that they made this vehicle with a manual transmission. I haven't seen a manual for sale and am thinking that they might not have brought manuals to the US. I once converted a 1972 1800 from automatic to manual, but there were donor cars available that that had the pedals and cable. Any one know if a V90/960 is convertible...

can anyone tell me how to reset my service light on the dash...thanks

and i have a serious problem.
The engine shuts down suddenly and it returns back after 30 seconds exactly
I went to the service center in cairo and they adviced me to check the following things:
-The fuel pump
-The sensors
and i changed them
I can drive it without this problem for a week..and it may shut down eyery...

And since they are getting rid of the car, I want to take the wheels and tires since they are newer and my wheels already dont match. My car periodically won't start. The engine turns over, but it won't catch and start. I've replaced the ignition box and relay system. It is getting to the fuel injectors. This seemed to solve the problem, but it recently started again. It happens infrequently. There is not consistent pattern.

Could it be electrical?

I'm thinking of buying a diagnostic code reader for my 1998 940 lpt celebration. Does this car use OBD2 code protocols? As far as I know this did not become standard until 2001. Can anyone enlighten me?

I'm getting a code 2-4-1 and think I need to clean the EGR valve. Ok easy, right? Not!

How do you get the EGR valve off to clean it? I saw the EGR for the 850 model on the Volvospeed Bay13 site, but that EGR is located right under the throttle body. On the 940 it's all the way behind the engine next to the firewall. I can't even tell how it's mounted.

I'm a newbie, which may become even more apparent as you read my questions. I owned a 1995 base model 940 wagon for almost 10 years and it now has ~166K miles.

Today yhe bulb failure warning light on the dash lit up when I started the car and, being all-too-familiar with the frequent bulb failures on the 940, I immediately set about figuring out which bulb was out.

The 960 has 115k on the clock, we have a fresh Mass Air meter, new fuel pumps, new filter, screen (Napa fuel handling parts), bosch super plugs with 2k on them, and it sputters and occasionally dies at long redlights. I have a 1994 960 wagon with 144,000 miles. I have a problem with the AC when the car is under accelleration. The AC works fine and blows cold but when you depress the accellerator the fan goes off and the AC stops, take your foot off the gas and it will go back to normal. I tried to locate a vaccum leak but all looks fine. Any Ideas?

my 92 940 has a strange noise thats goes on and off, it sounds like its in the engine, but it goes on with a click sound and imediatly turns off the same way, some times its a minute sometimes its near 5 minutes.

its a squeling noise near or around the timing belt/ front of motor, i checked the timing belt for the fun of it, but i realize it does it when something turns on intermitidly...

We have recently been getting some noise from the blower motor. Apparently a plastic bag was sucked up into it. It's sort of intermittent. When fiddle with it from below sometimes it works for a while with no noise. Later its back to the whirring sound.

I got into my car this afternoon, put the key in the ignition, got the seat belt buzz for half a second then nothing. No radio, lights, windows, fuel pump buzz, no turnover. Battery tests ok. My '93 940 wagon has 293,000 miles on it. The automatic trans has started to shift late. It sees that the warmer the car gets, the slower it shifts. Sometimes after 30 minutes of driving it won't shift into high gear until 70 mph. The trans fluid level is okay. Does anybody know what's causing my problem?

I'm trying to troubleshoot an electrical problem in my '92 940. Research on this forum and others has led me to believe that the fuse block needs to be replaced. A few of the relays are overheating even after I replaced them with new ones. Does anyone have any advice on how to install a new/ used fuse block?

When I bought my car, I quickly figured out the key to the ignition did not lock or unlock any of the other doors. So I had the dealer make me keys based on my vin number. I have gotten a well used 1996 960 wagon. NO AC. When I push the AC button in and out the tack responds so something is happening. So I bought a can of 134a and hooked it up to the place the AC refil goes. Blew up my gauge its stuck at 90 something. Does anybody have any ideas? I followed directions and ran the car at full on the AC?

I have been smelling gas fumes when riding in my 1994 960 through the vents. I can even smell fumes when parked in the garage. Has anyone experienced this problem?

yesterday...when my father was under return home by his 960'1995,suddenly wipers on front glass and on lamps starts working(on highest rpm's) and pump blow out all washing liquid into glass and lamps.
Problem is, it happens itselfs and we can't switch it off ....we have to turn ignition off for switch it off....

the speedometer and the oddometer stick at the same time every so often. i turn on the car the speedometer goes up to 40mph and sticks and the odometer doesnt turn. it only happens when i let the car sit for awhile. it really doesnt get driven to often. i have replaced the speed sensor in the rear end no real difference. any ideas?

so I can get to the Relay in there which I suspect is broken.
Just a note, the relay for the automatic up/down window control is within

Hi, I want to remove the rear double seats in my 1994 940. I can easily remove the 'lower' part but would also like to remove the backrests for more space. I can't see an obvious way, the pivot mount appears to be fixed in place.

My rear shocks on my 960 are a bit tired and I am thinking of replacing them. Is this a fairly easy job? What would you recommend as replacements as I know the Nivomats are very expensive.

My non turbo lost a heater hose and overheated the motor. Got it home on the back of a ramp truck and see that the front 2 plugs are wet and cranking blows water out of the fill canister.
