My mechanic recently did some repairs on my tail lights. In doing so he needed to figure out which fuse was for the tail light. In doing so he pulled each fuse until he figured out which one he was looking for. One of the fuses he pulled before finding the correct fuse was for the stereo and now I need to enter an anti theft stereo code.

Can anyone tell me how to obtain...

My 92 940 turbo stalls out or loses power when my gas tank drops to one third full. This has been going on since summer and it is getting worse. I have to keep the tank full to be able to drive this car. I have replaced both fuel pumps and air mass meter. I am stumped. Someone point me in the right direction- please.

Hi,

I want to change my spark plugs as I've no idea how long they've been in the car. The three towards the front of the car are straightforward to get to but I can't get my spark plug socket to the one at the back because of a metal pipe coming from the brake fluid reservoir.

I am using a standard ratchet wrench to remove them. I suppose I could get one of those...

I have a 1995 Volvo 960 that decided she doesn't want to start. She's got 138,000 miles on her, well maintained, been a great car. I tried starting her yesterday and she cranks over fine (sounds normal), but won't start. I assume it's either a fuel delivery problem, or the starter isn't engaging properly somehow to crank her over.

Is it worth the time and expense to put IPD sway bars, chassis braces and panhard rod on a 1995 940 turbo wagon? What benefts will these have for the vehicle? Are there any draw backs? Are the IPD products quality items? I have stock wheels and tires which I wasn't planning on changing. Is the installation easy? Thx for the assistance. P.S. Any suggestions to improve winter traction...

still going strong even though done 140,000 miles.
the key fob that lets me lock the doors and sets the alarm without the key has
fallen to bits and no longer works so i have had to use the key to lock and unlock the doors.
because of this i have had to turn of the sensors and alarm.

Hello all, I'm the happy owner of my 4th rear drive Volvo. '94 940. I have a windshield question. After replacement, the trim is loose and I'm getting some noise at freeway speeds. Can I just use some silicone sealer under the trim to take up the slack? I will order new trim if it's not too pricey but I need a quick fix now. Thanks.

For some reason my security alarm keeps setting itself off, to the point where I have had to take the fuse out of the alarm (was that or suffer grief from the neighbours). I have had an electrician out to check it out and he cannot find a damn thing wrong. Has anyone had this problem and/or can anyone help as its driving (no pun intended) me mad.

Hi, I am a new owner of an old 1992 940 4 cyl non turbo ( vin numbers 6 and 7 are 88 ) The Chilton's manual prints in one page that the fuel system is a LH 2.4 and in the next page it prints that it is a Regina.
Check engine light comes on
I read the code the test cable plugged in number 6 and I get 1-4-3
The only place that I find this code is in the motronic code...

i have some sort of leak of coolant into the car, windows are steaming up etc, i am pretty sure its the matrix, either a broken pipe or the matrix is damaged. is there any way i can isolate the matrix from the engine until im have time to get the matrix apart and check it out.

I have a 1994 Volvo 940 Turbo wagon, and it has a problem where the shift lock won't release when the break is pressed - I have to use the little manual release button at the base of the shifter. I checked the break lights and all fuses, and they are fine. So the problem seems to be either the solenoid or the microswitch (I found a little about this on the net).

I'v got a 1996 960 that when you unlock the drivers door with the key the alarm system doesn't get deactivated and goes off as soon as you open the door. I do not have a FOB for this car only the key. My volvo has developed a whine/whur at low speeds that seems to change in pitch as the transmission shifts. When I get up to a fairly fast speed (40mph or more) the noise level drops quite a bit. It does it more when it is cold. I suspect a transmission. Any ideas?

I am in Sydney Au. and it is Dang hot. My A.C. is working, but when we run it it squeaks something fierce . Sounds like( sssscccrrreeeeaaakkkkkkk!) when accellerated Then Squeaka-squeaka-squeaka, @ idle.Seems to disapear after 2000 rpms? Seems to be coming from the pulley(s) but sounds metallic and schrill. Is there a way to lube the ac system?
