The factory fitted radio/casette in my 940 (1995 Turbo Estate) finally stopped working today after intermittent stops and starts. I bought a new unit and having taken out the old radio, I can't match up the wires. Has anybody got an idea about the colour coding, or a radio wiring diagram. I don't want to connect the power into the speaker outputs or...

I retrieved the following codes:

2 4 1 EGR Malfunction

1 2 2 Air Temp Sensor Signal

1 2 1 Mass Air Flow Sensor

I believe the Mass Air Flow Sensor came up because my son unplugged it momentarily when the car was on.

Can anyone advise on the other two????

I have a 1994 945 turbo that was running great until the dash's small amber 'service' light came on. The car does not run rough now but did when the light first came on. How do I access the diagnostics??

The glove box on my 1994 940 will not open. The keyed lock rotates but the catch will not release. Saw similar problems and pictures in 850 forum. Are these glove box locks the same? Any suggestions to get open with out destroying the door?

What's the fuel capacity for a 94 940? I've heard that it's 19.8 gal, but other sites say it's around 16 gal. Then some other place said that the 19.8 gal. tank was an extra option for the wagon. Does anyone know for sure which one it is?

how do i work the remote for the alarm, all it says is lock and unlock.

sometimes ill do it and the little red lite blinks slowly, then some times i do it and it blinks sooo fast.

does anyone know a way to test the coils on a 95 960 i know i have atleast one bad as to the hesitation and shakey idle that my brick has now after replacng the intake gasket and gettin rid of the vac leak is there any percise way to check and replace them or do i just by 6 new ones

On my 92-960 the dash vents no longer work when trying to switch to differant settings, the air only comes out on the floor now.

Any ideas as to what it might be?

Hello, I have a '94 volvo turbo 940. Recently I ran very low / out of gas, after putting gas in it, after that experience , the car started surging, and the turbo fluctuate, the RPMs would drop, and the car would die. I am thinking I have a clogged fuel line or, more probably fuel filter. Are the fuel fitlers hard to access? Thank you for any replies. ~Matt

i just finished washing it about an hour ago and i got to start it up and a huge bang noise came from the engine and now there is smoke coming from the inside (i attached a pic of my engine and where smoke is slowly coming from)

I think my in tank fuel pump is out in my 92 960 sedan.I have taken out the rear seat to try and find it and its not there where it is supposed to be according to the library.Has anyone done this job before and if so can you help me find the pump?

I'm replacing the A/C drive belt on a 1995 940. Can any one tell me whjt all has to be loosened. I see an adjusting bolt on the compressor and opposite the adjusting bolt ( direction of the firewall, there is a bolt that i have loosened. Is that all?

Hello, new to this site. Trying to glean some instructional help for my '95 940 wagon (plain jane). Just had the a/c checked. they couldn't find the leak. Said it is possibly behind the dash. They wanted to re-charge the freon at $150. Is this something I can do myself? It would be a waste of $ to re-charge and have it all leak out.

I'm having problems with the electric control for the front seat on my 940 GL. The control does not allow the front seat to move forward. The electric seat control will only raise the seat and move it back. Since my wife is the primary driver of this vehicle, she is having a difficult time driving the car with the seat in this position.

One morning I found my car with an empty battery (Volvo 940, 1998)... I soon realized that the fan for cooling the radiator had been spinning my battery empty during the night. Well, it was winter, so I just unplugged the fan - problem temporarily solved. After a few days I plugged it in - and it worked just as it should again! Weird... But now the problem is back again ...

My volvo 960 (1996) has trouble starting in the morning... this is what happens. I turn on the car and it stutters to turn on. the rpm meter oscillates half way between 0 and 500 rpms really fast for about a second and then it turns off. i start it again and it works fine as if it never stuttered. this happens almost every morning and i'm getting sick of it. but it doesn't really stop...

after i get the answer about the smell of gasoline that the problem in the conctions in the fuel pump after the left rear seat

than guys the solution is:
the alarm installer install his staf and he did not open the 4 screws he opend only 2 screws and bended the fuel pump cover!
than by this the cover did not buffers the outside of the car than the gasoline smell gets...

Has anyone tried to convert a manual wind system to electric?....I wonder if there is simply a motor cassette which sets in the place of the manual winder, & a scrapyard therefore would yield up such an item.

Partally disabled & poor knee flexibility & finding driver leg space inadequate, in fact amazed at how short Swedish folk must be.
When rear seats are down obviously this is a limiting factor, but when up, room is just as bad, should it go further back, if not is there an easy fix?

I believe that the sunroof in my 940 has jumped a guide on the passenger side, or maybe its the drivers side. the motor works fine and will raise the rear about half way before it stops.

Hi - I am fitting the seven seat conversion in my Volvo 940. The problem is with the seat belts in that the webbing is tightly wound back on the reels and I can't pull them out to make enough slack the fit them - they appear to be completely locked. I dropped the driveshaft out of my 1995 960 SW. The 2 shafts will not seperate. Is there a trick? I have had it to 2 driveline shops without any success. I found a set screw and removed it. It would seem that the yoke is splined and should just slip apart. What am I missing here?
