Hello everyone, I currently have a modded volvo v40 and want to add chrome door handles on it, it would really bring out the look with the black. I have seen some on the internet on some cars, but couldn't find a store online that sells them, anyone know any???

Hi, can anyone tell me if they have managed to fit a non factory stereo into there T4 i disconnected the factory fitted stereo and found a black lead with 5 pins, i think this is for the sub woofer in the boot, i tried to fit a kenwood stereo into it but the sub woofer cable didn't fit the coonections.

Is there an adaptor i can get for this or do i have to get specific stereo head...

i own v40 t4 engine management light on and fan seems to be running constant topped up on coolant no difference talk to another volvo owner he says that there was a recall on some models fault with fan system(inferior parts) does termostat and sensor need replacing (temp gauge has not gone over half way)any replies would be very helpful

I have swapped the sender unit in the tank with the one on my S40 T4 and there is nothing wrong with the sender units in the tank on either vehicle trip computer reads 0 with a full tank.

Hi, greetings from a mew member and the proud owner of a 150.000 plus mileage v40! However, on a recent trip the fuel guage died on me! It shows empty and the emergency reserve light is on, tho the tank is full!! Any ideas??

Can anybody tell me if I'm able to disable the alarm sensors inside the car If I leave my dog in the car ? (I always leave the windows down a little bit to ).
If I leave her in the car with the alarm activated after 30 seconds it goes off, most annoying as I cant take the dog anywhere if we have to leave her in the car.

Hi. My V40 is in for its MOT on Friday and I thought I would check my lights today. Both of my sidelights have blown and I can get neither of them out.

Car has just failed mot. Have been advised that i need two new headlights, at a cost of £125 each, as the old ones cannot be adjusted. Apparently this is quite common on v40's. The new headlights are lucus ones, can i get others any cheaper??

Suddenly, my ABS seems to be on all the time. More noticeable at low speeds. And while the brakes seem to work, they do appear to be pulling to one side. I have checked the pads and calipers, all seems ok, but brake at 15mph, and it sounds and feels like the brakes are full of gravel.

I'm new here and about to be new to owning a Volvo. I'm buying a 2002 V40 on Monday, and need to get my insurance information squared away.

Does anybody know if the standard V40 alarm is active or passive? I'm not exactly sure what that even means, but my insurance agent asked me to find out so I can get a credit if it's active.

Have a V40 1.8 petrol and am thinking of towing a small caravan with it but have heard that you need to watch rear suspension bushes when towing.Has anybody experienced thsi problem and if so are the costs high to replace the bushes?

couple questions:
1. I'm plan to do my own oil change on 2001 v40. what's the best oil and oil filter I should use?
2. the manual says oil change interval is 75k miles or 125k km. is this too long? i thought usually oil needs to be changed every 5-6k?
