Having some radiator overflow tank problems. Like some other people, the radiator canister is empty after sitting. It leaves a trail down the driveway when I pull out. I can't figure out what is up.

Some background: the coolant overflow cap is tight, and flushed out the radiator. See no bubblers in the oil, or the color of chocolate milke there either. Exhaust pipe seems not to be...

I had a loose hood release cable. I thought I could tighten it
by tightening the wire on the passenger hood release. I closed
the hood...Big mistake.

I recently purchased a 1998 V90 wagon with 76k miles for $6k. There are a couple problems. Clicking rattle coming from front end- sounds like drivers side wheel. Sound stops when brakes are applied. My 98 S90's battery has let me down three times now. Dead when I try to start. I'm pretty sure the battery is good. I want to start with the cheaper fixes. How easy is changing out the brushes in the alternator? Can I do it with the alternator still on the car? Also, anyone know the part number for the brushes?

Well, I put in Engine Coolant, and then the next day, its' gone. Like, gone. God knows where it went. The volvo just drinks it. I don't suspect that the volvo is burning off engine coolant, for obvious reasons, but I also don't seem to notice an leaks. And, my engine temp. guage is right smack in the middle.

So yeah, what should I check for?

BUT when i start the car the stereo is great as it usually is,
but while driving the back speakers will cut out and then the front passenger's speaker follows suit. The bass also dissappears somewhere in that time frame too.

97 V90 WAGON SUSPENSION SAGS ESPECIALLY WHEN LEFT SITTING. DOES NOT BY ID CODE OR CRAWL UNDER INSPECTION HAVE THE NIVOMAT SHOCKS. SEEMS TO LEVEL OUT AFTER DRIVING. SHOCKS SEEM FINE WITH CORRECT BOUNCE. SIDE TO SIDE FIBERGLASS LEAF SEEMS OK. OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS.

I need to find the amp in this car and i went to auto shops and they looked in the computer on where it was and it never told them my 2 6x9s have a amp hooked to them and if i put new speakers in the amp will blow my speakers so please if you know where it is give me a hand

I have just installed a ram intake for my '98 S90, for people that own this car or know about this car will know there is two pipes that come out the base of the airbox. What does the silver pipe that goes to the engine for, is it important!?

The 98 that I just bought began to overheat, one mechanic says that it sounds like a blown head gasket, whilst another says that it sounds like a cracked head.

The car has 150K on it, had the hoses blow on a previous owner, was never abused.

My question is how likely are the heads to crack on these engines? Which is more likely?

Problem is, I can't find a manual for them anywhere. Why is this ? Even that much lauded but so far nothing to brag about...

After getting no response, I'm asking again. My turn signals work for up to ten flashes then freeze on. My local Volvo guy told me to replace all the bulbs. I did that and they are still bad. There's no relay I can replace anywhere. Any ideas?

I have been told these horns go bad after awhile...true? mine sounds a little muffled, unlike the regular car horn that has a high pitch sound. if so, where can i pick up just a horn that will go right in, replacing the factory installed alarm horn.

I know that some may not want to answer for security reasons, but this is my issue. I had to change the battery in my S90. I loaned it to someone before resetting the radio code and now the radio just says off, it wont even allow me to put the code in. Anyone have any ideas? If it gets to be too big of a deal I may go with an aftermarket radio.

My s90 has driver seat issue - the automatic seat will not go back and forth - the left side will - but limited - the right side seems to have an obstruction.

I removed the seat to look for coins blocking the track..... doesn't seem to be that.
Are there 2 motors (one for the left side and one for the right side of the drivers seat) maybe it's my right motor that is...

I'm new to this list but I'm an old volvo brickhead. Just picked up a clean v90 with roof rails. Volvo only seems to have the square profile cross bars for the v90.
Do any of the aluminum oval shaped t-track cross bars made for other volvo models fit the v90?
I know that thule makes a cross bar but it's $250 when you add-up all the parts.

I've replaced the switch that the brake uses to release the gear shift but it only lasted about 6 months. I am back to using the override button next to the gear shift. Anybody else having the same problem or did i get a faulty switch?

after locationg a used motor I attempted to turn it over by hand and found it to be "stuck" after 1/2 a turn . I was told by the recycler I purchased it from that I needed to blow the carbon out of the cyls .

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone here knows where I can find new guide gates (or tracks) for the sunroof on my S90? I'm talking about the plastic-lined gates that the pins slide in, to guide your sunroof into the proper postion. From what I've read on forums, the plastic on these gates breaks pretty easily.

I have a K&N 33-2755 air filter for my US spec. '98 S90. I've read different reports about these. Some say it'll give more power. And others say it'll kill the mileage and make the car run like a junker.

Recently half of the SC-813 buttons stopped lighting up. Anyone know how to change the bulbs or where i can buy them?

I had the fluid changed a couple of weeks ago and no the transmission is starting to act up. It only has 58,000 miles on it which is not very many for an 8 year old car. Good news is that it is still covered under extended warenty till the end of November. Why are the transmissions so expensive for these cars?

Has anyone had trouble with their radio antenna? You turn the radio on the antennna goes up and makes a clicking noise and will not stay up. So the radio will not work.
Either that or it stays up and won't retract.
It just started this.
