Hello, everyone. I have a 2005 S60 2.5 model volvo and needing some adivice whether I should put 18' rims 235/40/18 from my current 195/65/15. I don't know anything about rims and if this rims will fit on my 05' S60. My 15's are too small for me especially coming from 2008 Acadia. My wife and I switched cars. So I - unsuccessfully - tried to refinish my 17" tethys in chrome. I have spent the last couple of days after work sanding each one down again and prepping for a new finish.

Gunmetal gray is the color I'm going with.

I washed first. Then sanded 100 grit down to primer, then quickly sprayed off the dust.

I will be sanding with 220 grit today, spraying off...

Now that my new exhaust is on my 850 im moving on to fixing up/upgrading the suspension. I already purchased heavy duty front endlinks and new front control arms (one of mine is shot)...so far im thinking Bilstein HD Shocks/Struts + lowering springs...the cheapest ive seen Bilstein HD's for is around $400.

Is there a different brand that is recommended for around the same price...

Got new front struts installed on my 1998 V90. The strut mounting plate on passenger side has a larger gap (in the oval cutout where mounting plate mounts) towards the front of car and mounting plate on the driver side strut has a larger gap towards the rear of car. Hi I currently have 225/45/17 Michelin Pilot PS2 on my V70 D5 I have only just & so got 15000 miles out of them & now require a new full set. The tyres are equally worn & there is nothing wrong with the car set up. I am reluctant to pay the premium for Michelin & whilst i am not going to put budget tyre on either. Anyone any recommendations of a better wearing tyre?

the bushings on my 440 wishbones needs replacing, do i need to replace the whole wishbone or just the two bushings and how is this done,

Have a V40 1.8 petrol and am thinking of towing a small caravan.Have read reviews of V40 which mentions possible suspension problems when towing.Anyone had this experience with V40?

Really like my 96 960 wagon. However, I've had the sway bar links replaced 3 times over the last 50,000 miles and now I'm hearing a similar front end noise again. With each of the previous replacements the noice is gone for the next 10 to 15,000 miles. Is there something else that could be causing the frequent need for replacement?

The first problem is, in germany, if I found some wheels in 18" with 4x114,3 bult circle, the design is awful... !

But if I look for at ebay motors, there I see for example a lot of nice ADR wheels... but are the seller serious ?

One vendor is selling me koni fsd/eibach pro kit, and another vendor is saying me that eibach doesn't exist for FWD, only for AWD. So I start my search and found a part number from eibach site that is listed only for the AWD part no. 8435.140

And here is the link for the kit that is supposed to fit.

I asked a question about tire size and received an answer on this site. Perhaps I overlooked a more important question. Will 16x7 wheels from an 2002 s80 fit safely on an 1995 850? The larger wheels have a higher offset number. Will this be an issue? I notice that 16" wheels made for the 850 have a 6.5 width compared to the 7" width of these new wheels. I just ordered the 17" Pegasus S60R wheels so I can put a snow tire on this car with a larger profile.

According to specs, the rims call for a 235/45/17 has anyone gone with someithng like a 225/ 50 series tire... or does anyone know if and what thicker size will fit. im even willing to use 5mm spacers on the back (cause I already usem on the front to kill that notorious rub)...

The car presently has original front suspension which is too low as we use the 850 for heavy loads. We need to raise the front suspension can anyone advise us to what I need to buy for the front. We have already put koni shocks and heavy duty springs on the rear.

Just finished upgrading the wheels on our Volvos. Put 17" Canisto on my S60. Took my 16" Mimas wheels and put them on my sons 850 and took his 15" Cetus wheels off. They're for sale if anyone is interested. I think the bigger wheels fill out the wheel wells better on both cars.

i was wondering if any of the bigger wheels of bigger volvo like the T5 would fit
can you fit 17" wheels with out any problems

I have a 2001 S60 t5. I am wishing to lower the ride height a little by fitting some different springs, but prefer not to go stiffer as the ride is already jiggly on bumps/potholes. I will be fitting new dampers too.

I just got a 2002 V70 XC AWD.
When I make an extreme right or left turn, if I'm taking a right angle turn on a city block say, the steering wheel stays in the turned position and doesn't snap back if I let go of the wheel. I have to manually straighten the wheel.
If I take a greater than 90degree turn the wheel will slowly snap back into a more straight position...

My 1990 760 Turbo makes a hollowed rattling and/or clunking sound when I either back up or go around corners/over bumps. It sounds like it is coming from the rear right side of the vehicle.

Also, I have noticed that when I use the breaks I hear what sounds like a grinding in the same area (the rear right side of the vehicle. This sound also engages itself when I excel from a stand...

I've had my 2005 S40 with 17" tires and sport suspension for about 13 months now and the ride is just too harsh for my daily commutes. Is there any options/changes that can be done to change the ride to something more suitable.

I made the mistake of driving the "standard" suspension before purchase and decided to get the "sport"...

My 2004 XC70 came with 16" wheels. But I have a set of snow tires on 15" steel rims that I used on my 1998 V70XC (no longer own). Will I be able to use these snow tires with 15" rims on 2004 XC70? Will I have any mechanical problem if the wheels are an inch smaller than Volvo recommended?
