Is Volvo coming out with any performance chips for the 2005 S40 T5 AWD? I heard something about a possible power increase from 218hp to about 300hp. Rumours or is there some truth to it?

I have looked at a couple catalogs, mainly ipd's for performance parts and they do not offer an upgraded performance exhaust for this car (2002 s60 awd 2.4T), I am assuming that's because it is AWD? Any suggestions? Please keep in mind that this is a CA smog regulated vehicle (or I would fab one myself)... Any help would be appreciated....-Thanks, Gary ...

Hello I am trying to find out what turbo is on the 07 t5. And what are some possibilities for upgrades?

my 1996 volvo 960 has a very rough idle. my scanner reads p0306 code which means misfire emission level cyl 6. trying to troubleshoot this but it can be so many things. from spark plugs, ign coil, exh gasket, injector, exh valve to catalyst converter. already change spark lugs during regular maintenance and switched ign coil from cyl 6 to cyl 1 and re-scan. still reads p0306. i can hear air...

My 1990 760 Turbo makes a hollowed rattling and/or clunking sound when I either back up or go around corners/over bumps. It sounds like it is coming from the rear right side of the vehicle.

Also, I have noticed that when I use the breaks I hear what sounds like a grinding in the same area (the rear right side of the vehicle. This sound also engages itself when I excel from a stand...

got an inline carbon fibre filter to replace the airbox on my s40. the thing is, there's no instructions on which way to fit the filter. there's the cone inside the filter which i think points into the air flow, but i'm not sure. is it right?

in the above link they offer the hybrid boost controller. i have several questions about these little things....

1. will i need two considering the t6 has twin turbos
2. how do i control the boost since there not digital
3. how much hp can i plan to gain (i dont want to push the limits of my turbos just make them work harder)
4. how do i install a gauge since...

I just purchased my 2006 s40 Volvo on 3/25/06 and I was looking at not only improving performance of my vehicle as in added horse power but I am looking to improve the fuel efficiency of that vehicle.

I would like to do anything that is within the bounds of the warranty and are not bank breaking? What do you have...let me know what suggestions you have.

Hey everyone. Im looking for engine upgrades, specifically intake and intercooler pipe upgrades right now. Looking thru back posts, all I can find is people asking where to go, and no posts with results from upgrades.

Im leaning towards Evolve or Svenske Racing, but I understand SR has had trouble delivering orders and Evolves intake is still in development. Has anyone done upgrades...

I have a 2001 Volvo C-70. It has 54,000 miles. The automatic transmission failed me on my way to work. I was waiting on an uphill slope at a stop sign, transmission in Drive (I'm pretty sure), foot on brake; when I tried to go, gear had slipped to Neutral and car rolled downhill. Just purchased a used 01 s80 non turbo off lease. Excellent shape, but no service records. What is best oil to use? Do I need to take it to dealer for trans flush, or can a quick lube do the job. Thanks.

Standard twin carb B18 engine, 4 speed box.
what would be a nice easy straight forward engine swap. I was thinking B20 or something.
Main reason to do this is for better fuel consumption. Anybody help on this.

Just wondering if anyone here has tried fitting in an independent ATF intercooler just for the ATF.

This way, the present cooling system with the main intercooler, will only need to focus on the engine, while the separate and smaller intercooler would focus on the ATF.

I understand the benefits outweigh the costs on this one. ...

I have bought 2002 S60 2.4 D (130HP) last month. I've made a test on the highway. I tried to achieve as low fuel consumtion as possible.
Conditions:
straight flat 80/50 km/mile long section of the highway
optimal engine temperature
booth directions driven test

My trip computer displayed average fuel consumption under 3 l/100km (80 mpUSg)...

can any one advise me of the spark plug gap size for a 2002 S60 2.0T....
i need a quick answer if anyone can help ???

I am new to this site and need help with my 1998 v70 T5. My car is occasionaly surging while I am trying to stop. I actually ran into a building on Fri and caused considerable damage(not to the car). I was trying to stop and the car just surged. The little beast is in the shop and I am getting an ugly feeling the problem will not be found. Please help me if you can Thx ...

You could feel the difference.

Of course, what made me change at first is due to the crack in one of the hoses. But well, if it didn't crack, I would even blink to reconsider changing what's not damaged.

Hi,

I have a C70 2.4T, which has the low-pressure turbo. Can I obtain greater power from the engine without chipping the ECU like on a conventional turbo cars with a normal blower like the 2.3 T5 version.

Any suggestions at this stage would be helpful.
