i just bought a 1991 740 turbo wagon from my uncle, it was a VERY reasonable price. I have a 95 940 wagon volvo with the B230FT engine.
I bough a MBC and a turbo gauge today.
I also have a K&N air filter.
I'd like to know how much boost can the engine safely take?
Is around 12-13 safe?
The engine is stock.

Based on info that I have seen posted on the internet I purchased Volvo brand spark plugs for my recently acquired 850. I read that Volvo's are temperamental and seem to do best with either Volvo brand or NGK iridium plugs. Is there any truth to this? What spark plugs do you use?

I've been thinking of installing a bov in my v40 t4, but my mechanic says that it would interfere with the air flow sensor since the airflow would change and that it may cause engine to get weird. thinking, since engine's are cheap, about dropping a t4 engine into my s40. what's the power of the t4 and is it the same mounts etc? think it is the same block, just bored out more. wanting to make the car more powerfull since the insurance is cheap now i'm 25.

I have a c70 LPT and i have removed the ECU so as to put a tuned chip. After the whole prosedure (desoldering the old chip, putting a socket in the board and placing the new chip) i have placed the ECU to the connector and the car didn't start. So i thought that something wrong is going with the new chip. I then unplagged the ECU, change the tuned chip with the stock...

I have a 02 S60 NA and love the car. However, there seems to be limited options for performance upgrades on non-turbo models. Besides K&N Filter upgrades, are their chip upgrades for non-turbo S60's? IPD/Evolve don't have one.

hi guys, i have a 1998 V70 XC AWD with everything stock 2.4L low pressure turbo and i am thinking about upgrading it with a T5 turbo or some other turbo of that sort. what should i look out for, i.e. what is the transmissoin rated at for torque and hp, would the chip have to be changed in any way. would i have to do anything else with anything other than that related to swapping the turbo alone?...

3 days ago i have take my ecu and gone to a electronician to take out my eprom chip from my ECU board with heat gun( this operation is not true i think?) and take the eprom by the board we put that eprom to an adapter and took the file on it but the file inside the EPROM is damaged the first parts are true but the last parts of that file was crumbled we mounted the eprom again to the ecu and...

I've been experiencing some over heating of my car lately, but after a few minutes it would be gone. Then after a couple of days, it would go back again.

Do I have to replace some of the parts like the ? Because as what I remembered, this is one of the possible reasons why sometimes a car over heats. Or do I need to replace other parts than this?...

I bought a 740 turbo not sure of what year yet. it was only $500 and needs a new turbo. my friend has a brand new turbo out of a totaled s40 I believe. he is willing to just give it to me if I can put it in the 740. has anyone done this before? would it work?

Is Volvo coming out with any performance chips for the 2005 S40 T5 AWD? I heard something about a possible power increase from 218hp to about 300hp. Rumours or is there some truth to it?

I have looked at a couple catalogs, mainly ipd's for performance parts and they do not offer an upgraded performance exhaust for this car (2002 s60 awd 2.4T), I am assuming that's because it is AWD?
