I have a S80 that at one time, before I got it, had got into an accident. The front seat belts were replaced and are fine. The airbags and the rear seatbelts were not replaced. The side-impact system is good.

Hello all! First post on this board for me - I just got my S80 this week.

I love the car, and it drives well. As I continue to get to know it, I have noticed that the frame around the side windows is not painted, but is actually some kind of laminate/adhesive. The texture is rougher than the paint finish too. This isn't a problem, but it looks like this laminate is beginning...

I'm looking for a 1997 960 wagon rear bumper cover, primed or painted white. I'm in the Pacific NW, but any place that mail orders is fine too.

Does anyone have a reference to a mail order shop or wrecking yard where I may be able to get a good deal? Seems that ebay and the like all carry front bumpers, but no one I've found carries the rear.

I want to paint my '86 Volvo 740 GLE from silver (grey) to a midnight black colour. How much is that gonna run me? The car has no rust anywhere whatsoever, a sunroof, and 4 doors. How much am i looking at here?

The next step to the car of my dreams is to add a completely non-obnoxious spoiler to the rear of the car. I want it to be about 2 inches off the trunk, and about the width of the car. Any estimates would be appreciated! I would also like to know if any of you have done this sort of thing, and how did it turn out?

My problem:
I have owned my 1995 964 for a little over three weeks now. One problem that really bugs me is the front passenger seat. When you push the front/back button, it tries to turn itself sideways instead of going back and forth. The motor (or are there two of them?) works because the seat does move, only not in the right direction.

I recently visited the great and mighty Volvo dealer last week end. I was inquiring about the Volvo leather care system for a mear 54.00 dollars.

Since this is my first car I've owned with leather seats. I have very little experience with caring for the leather auto seats. I use Lexol primarily on my motorcycle leathers and have very good resuits.

Anyone out there know where to buy any at?

Can I swap out and use the 850?

Suggestions on possible fiberglass/styrofoam make my own?

I have just begun to notice that the dashboard cover for the airbag has begun to lift on the top front corners. It is a minor problem but is really annoying considering the dash and etc... is in mint condition. Is it possible to re-glue it back using something like epoxy OR should a dealership or qualified Volvo tech. do it for me?

Here is a question I have in my mind for some time now. My S40 is my first NEW car I bought and I'm going to try to keep it new for as long as possible.

It seems to be a common idea that in order to keep your car looking good you need regular wash, wax, detailing, etc (for whom ever wants to spent the time) .

My Ruby Metallic XC90 has picked up a few scratches and I got some touchup paint from the dealer when I dropped it off for service today.

For a while I was waxing my new T5 by hand but it just takes too long and most of all I’m not quite sure it actually does a good job of preventing marks on the clear coat. I got good towels meant for car paint but after I wash and dry the car...

Recently bought a 1999 C70, great car, but the dash lights used to work...for example - turn on the headlights and the orange bulb light would come on on the dash.

Could this be a fuse blown?

Any ideas anyone??

I am looking to buy a 1999 C70 convertible.

The car I am currently looking at has a rather worn out steering wheel. The leather has com off so it seems, and what is left behind is a spongy material probable also part of the leather.

Is this something that can be repaired (for a reasonable price), or is replacement the way to go? Any good addresses (web)?

ok so i'm driving home the other night and my needles drop.....i thought the car stalled.....but no it runs fine.......the guages just won't work as well as the odometer........

somebody help me fix this.........

Anybody has experience with original VOLVO roofbars fol S60 S80? My front roofbar wount fit the roof, it seems to be almost 15mm wider than supposed to be :-(

I just purchased a used replacement switch for my windows. The old one did not open any windows and made a strange sound. How do I replace the switch? Must I remove the door panel? If so, how does one do this? They told me that they sell many of these swiches for s70's (1998). Help!!!

i've been given a mesh grille for an s60. would it fit my s40? it's non standard, but is supposed to have the same fittings. if it won't fit i'll sell it to anyone who wants it.

My dad's S60 has a very bland and boring dash...It is all one color (black), and yeah, it has no character. (The red floor mats are gone)

Greetings fellow subscribers to sweedish steel. Finally got the replacement bumpers I showed a while ago. Got them primered and tried to remove the front bumper, but I seem to have struck a minor problem getting to the securing bolts. Never mind. I'm gonna post pics of the bumpers before I paint them, and after,and hopefully, fitted to the car. Anyone else tried this? I've seen other cars...

I own preowned S60 w/o heated seats. Is it possible to build seat heating in to the stating seats? I don't think about the 12 Volt Heated Seat Cushions. I would like to build them in to the seat. The switches behind the dasboard blinders are functional - probably just reprogramming of SW is needed. The power plug is already under the seats (?) just to have the wiring diagram......

I have a 2005 S80 T6 with walnut trim. This includes a walnut effect steering wheel in which I have noticed a couple of places where it appears that the clear coat finish, whatever it is, has minute cracks and the underlying "woodgrain" has started to lighten. I can see no way to repair this and would be interested in views. Also what might be involved, both cash ands...

i have a black S60. i bought it privatly and therfor, didnt get the showroom buff and shine treatment you get when you buy from a dealer......
i washed the car with turtlewax car shampoo and then dried with a chamois. i then polished it with autoglymm "ultra deep shine" as opposed to the "super resin" i ushally use. the results were o.k, but not that good considering all...

I have a 1995 855 T5R with 185,000 miles. When the weather starts to turn cold, the "open door" chime does bot stop. Some times, if I hit a bump, it will turn off and sometimes start again. I can repeatedly open and close the door but with mixed results at best.

My sunglasses slipped between the cup holder and the center well. I can see them, but can't get at them.

My Volvo dealer says that it'll be about $100 + an hour labor to remove the covering and free up the shades.

All I'd want to do is remove the flip lid of the center well.

Is that doable?

Volvo S60 2001

The automatic sunroof in my Volvo V70 2001 functions well in all positions but after closing it, it will rattle, even when you are driving only 25miles/hour.
Pushing it in the frame from the outside or a push from the inside does not help to stop the noise.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this, or is there any manual available ?
Any recommendations?
