Ok, so I have decided that I want to install an HID conversion kit, but am not sure how to get around the daytime running lights. I have a 04 xc70. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good dependable HID kit, I found some kits at but am unsure...any suggestions??

Anyone know if these are easy to install, or have had any dealings with these....

I have a 79 244 that has terrible fenders and nose, lights etc. BUT I also have a 245 that is in fine shape in the front end just the back is wrecked .. Is it possible to make the from end from the 245 fit the front end of the 244? both have nice motors and 4 speed transmissions so I might try to scab them together .. anyone try it ..

Has anybody had any success in tinting their taillights? I have no idea how I would even go about doing this, but I eventually want my 850 to be blacked out and I dont want bright red taillights ruining my dream!

My '93 940 w/manual seats is missing the side pocket/bin on the driver's seat. I have searched all the Volvo parts suppliers to no avail. Any ideas where I can find this (apparently) hard to find part? Thanks.

I'm trying to pull the bottom trim off of my 1991 240. You know, the 4" gray plastic before the body curves down to the underbelly? Who knows how this is attached? I was looking at it and believe its just adhesive but want to make sure before yanking at it.

This is all happening b/c I'm painting it soon and want that trim off so I can have a smoother look on the car.

Sharing shop space with a body/paint guy is a dangerous thing. I got this wild hair for some suicide doors, and he's not exactly the voice of reason. I don't imagine the Volvo crowd is into such nonsense, but just in case....anybody seen/done it? I'm thinking 'bout it on an 855, rear doors.

I just removed the volvo badges off my 850's front fenders and replaced them with sidemarker lights. The old badges left a ton of old dry glue residue around the lights...it looks real bad. My local car wash was nice enough to spend about 15 minutes on it with a pressure washer and everything, but there is still some left. The car is a '96 so this is some old glue were talking about...

Hi - my 850 has an external door trim strip missing, but it isn't the flat one it's the 3 dimensional smaller version. Are these the same as on the 7 series cars?

I'm replacing the mirror glass on the passenger side mirror on a 04 XC-90 (memory w/o folding) and there are two spring like pieces of wire on the back of the mirror. I am wondering where they set into inside the mirror housing. It looks as if they are to add some tension but I'm not quite sure how. I did also post this in the XC-90 forum so I hope this isn't considered...

I have a 2008 S80 with 3500 miles on it. I have noticed within the last week some cracking and flaking of the leather on the drivers seat left side seat bolster and back bolsters. This is very dissapointing because the car is always garaged when not in use . Has anyone else experienced this problem and what do you think Volvo would do about it. This to me is very unsatisfactory wear for a new car....

i've been conditioning my seats for a while and they feel great. but now i want to get that new leather smell. is there a conditioner or lotion or something like that? one that doesn't harm the leather or make it greasy? i found a bottle of something like that but its WAY too expensive:

A 960 i am considering buying has a terrible aesthetic? (appearance) problem with the interior vinyl covering of the doors. It is puckered and seemingly shrunken where it meets the base of the window. Any hints on DIY repair ie heat gun (re-stretch) or is this an upholsterers job. Any aftermarket replacement solutions? I'm trying to get ahold of material for replacing my headliner, and the local trim shop is recommending 1/4", foam-backed material. I've read on volvo forums and FAQs that the 1/8" material is preferred, as the 1/4" is too thick for the trim to fit back on. The trim shop insists they've had no problems with the larger foam, and that they recommend it because it hides...

I just picked up an 1993 850 GLT. The dealer I bought the car from gave me only one key, which opens everything - door locks, trunk, fits ignition, glove box.

The car also came with what appears to be an aftermarket remote ignition/lock system. Everything works great.

I just bought a beautiful 1989 volvo 780 (4-cyl turbo). It needs a few parts for it and i can not located any exterior parts (eg. taillights, front lip W/ foglights). I need some advice on repairing somewhat small paint scratches on few areas on my car.
I have a black painted S40 2005 model. The paint process seems strong on these newer cars but the clear coat looks terribly whitish when scratch and hard to miss on a black car.

For the last 2 weeks I have been using step 3 of the Michelin tire & wheel cleaning system . So far it seems to really cut down on the amount of brake dust buildup. The service manager at Volvo of Louisville (Kentucky) told me about it. I paid $5.99 USD at Autozone. Easy to use too. Just clean, dry, spray on and wipe off....

finally managed to push myself to don the rubber gloves and start fitting my body kit i got before christmas. even unpainted i love it! couldn't resist posing afer it was on. sad really, ain't I?

It seems as if the lumbar adjustment on the bucket seat of my 1980 242GT does not work. The knob rotates but does not seem to do anything. Is there anything serviceable that might fix this problem. I have not taken off the seat cover the see what is going on but was wondering if anyone has worked on one of these and what I might run into if I try to fix.

I'm applying the letters to the back of my C70, they were removed to paint. Actually had to buy them new. Anyway, I misplaced 1 letter so it's crooked now. But that adhesive is so strong, that I couldnt just pull the letter off again to adjust it.

Does anyone know a safe way to get this done? I dont want to ruin the paint OR the adhesive cuz I still need to reapply the letter....

Hello-I am trying to figure out the center armrest and all it's little accessories in my 1995 960... There is a tray that pulls out towards the front seats that I am not sure what the intended use is. My owner's manual says there is a cupholder there and I do see one for the rear seats when the top is flipped towards the back but none for the front.... Can anyone identify this for me?...
