I have a 2002 UK model V40 T4 Sport Lux with factory upgraded speaker system and HU-605 CD/Radio/Cassette. My question is, will this system be completely pre-wired to take a CD autochanger?

If so, presumably I will find the wiring somewhere in the rear luggage compartment - but where exactly?

Electrics/audio are not my strong point when it comes to cars, so if not fully...

Hello everyone, just thinking of upgrading the speakers on my 05 S40. Does anyone know what size will fit and also does the speaker grill pop off or do i have to take the whole door cover off?

Hey, got a question before i rip out the stereo.. is there a low-level output on the standard stereo in the car(HU-603)?

Never used this type of site before... but after ten days hearing my garage say "We don't know what's wrong with your 940 (auto)" it's a case of seeking out the experts.

Hello from Finland, traded my Maxima -01 to V70 -02...no regrets whatsoever...Only thing is the HU-603 stereo system, it sucks, poor sounds. Any ideas anybody, should the speaker upgrade do the trick or should I throw away the sound system and buy a new one?

I want to replace the original radio system in my girlfriend's 1991 940 (std 6 speakers). Does someone know the colour code for the standard harness? I want to put in a Pioneer CD player that I had in my old car, 4 speakers configuration.

Anything special? Something to do with the harness that was plugged in the "amp" output of the old radio in the...

Just wondering if anyone has had his ride additionally grounded / earthed for that fallback comfort.

My son wants to put a satellite ready radio into his 1993 Volvo 850. The sales rep told him that the installation could be much higher than normal due to a requirement to bypass an amplifier that may be installed between the original radio and the speakers. He indicated this was the case for some cars, but not all - but didn't tell us how we could tell.

Does anyone know how I can mute the radio (HU-603) in my S60 when my phone is in use ? The car kit I have is a CK-7W Nokia Bluetooth Hands Free Car Kit, it has a wire that is used to mute the radio when the phone is in use. How/where do I connect it to the radio ?

Picked up a yellow r the other night and the previous owner told me it was wired for a disc changer in the back. I know if I go oem I'm going to be paying way too much, is it possible to wire a non - oem changer back there without going through all the wires?

i bought a wiring harness for my s80 and plugs into where the volvo plug is. it only has four wires coming out to go into my cd player's harness. they are blue, red, yellow, and black. my harness for the cd player has a ton of wires, including the red yellow and black. but it doesnt have a blue. HELP!!!! plus how do i do it

I only bought my I Pod yesterday so was keen to test in car

the accessory to transmit to an FM channel of yr head unit was a dud - too much interference etc

so I simply bought a Radio Shack AV changeover switch box so I can select either head unit or I Pod to go to the various amplifiers [I simply take an RCA signal from head unit so dont use the internal amps]

I just bought an S40 which is great. I get a strange message intermittently though on my radio which is puzzling. I only seem to get it on one frequency (FM 104.7) and get it regardless of programming that is playing:

"Rockwell - Somebody's Watching You"

Does anyone know of Alpine CD Changer model CHM-5611 fits into the S60? Friend took it out from his accord and ask if I want it, I wonder if it can fit. He told me it doesn fit the S40. Anyone know anything or can help me out?

I've been having much trouble in locating speakers for a 1994 960 Volvo. The difficulty is attributed to the fact that my vehicle requires 8-ohm impedance speakers (Bose system), whereas most speakers are 4-ohm.

I have attempted to go through crutchfield and other vendors (best buy, tweeter, etc.), but all they have are 4-ohm speakers. Also, I've tried to search...

I have an '05 S40 with the premium audio system. I've noticed some strange behavior with the FM presets, and I'm wondering if I should be concerned (or if it's normal).

If I wait 30 seconds or so after starting the car before I try to switch stations, everything is fine. But if I try to switch stations immediately, the current station (the one it was already tuned to)...

i have a volvo 440 GLE and i am trying to install a cd player , i have already taken out the old radio, and tried to connect the old wired to the new cd player, but they do not connect with each other,i need to know how to get over this problem

Hi, my first time here. I'm trying to find replacement radio knobs for a 2000 S80, the tiny rubbery things that control bass/treble and fader/balance. Auto parts store says they can't be had, suggested going to a junkyard. Anybody know where I can get a pair of these? (knobs, not junkyeards) Thanks.

I just discovered this forum. I own a 2002 V70 and I am very happy with it. I do have a question about the audio. Occasionally I will hear a ticking sound repeating perhaps 5-6 times. It seems to come from the audio system. It occurs on radio, and cd. When I take the car to the dealer (3 times now) they can not source the problem.

Any thoughts would help.
