OEM Ipod adapter appears generic and will fit all S60, S80, V70, XC70 models. The kit comes with Ipod Owners Manual and The installation manual (posted) and instructions are pretty good as you can see. I have posted additional picture for those who are interested in attempting this installation themselves.

Construction of ipod housing in S80 center console.
Instead of drilling a hole in the existing recessed CD holder, I removed it completely (Fig.1) and constructed a new housing. To remove, insert screwdriver, push down and lift.

Cut 3 or 4mm particle board into 2 sizes
- 113mm x 132mm for bottom board
- 120mm x 186mm for cover (to be covered by felt later)

I have a 2007 V70XC with the dealer-installed iPod adaptor and have had no problem to date with my iPod or the first generation iPhone -- although I am not crazy about being limited to the first 10 playlists.

But the new 3G iPhone displays a message indicating that it will not charge in this adaptor. Everything else is the same, but it will not charge when hooked up to the Volvo iPod...

I own orginal HU-403 volvo radio and I have a problem with cassete unit in it.
Cassete does not load even if I put that manualy(via connection a motor to separate power adaptor).
I had check both motors on cassete unit and they are works well but when I try to connect it to the base unit with tape looks cable it seems to has no power ,I think its may be fuse somewere but no idea...

I have just bought a HU 603 to replace the HU 403 in my P2 V70. I have installed it and it works fine except for:-
Steering wheel buttons no longer work
Backlights do not work in stereo

I guess it needs a software update to configure it to work properly. Anyone know any part numbers or approx cost?

there is one lil question bugging me...Can the standard Halogen bulb be replaced directly with a Xenon bulb without getting the kit installed (ballast etc) and would this work...if it did why go through the trouble of getting the whole kit?
is the ballast like a transformer which increases the voltage?

Hi. I am having problems with my S-60 2.5 Turbo and the passenger side low beam. The light bulb blew out and I replaced it thinking it was 2 years of use. Within 24 hours the low beam blew out again and now the parking light has blown on the same side. The housing of the low beam was hot when I removed the bulb today. I have a Volvo Guard alarm fitted to a 1995 940, which has entered an the active-immobilised state. well i just installed my two Rockford Fosgate SUBS (P3DVC) And My RF P3002 Amp. I did not want to change my deck so i went with the In line Convertor 17.77 at WAL-MART....So first i must commend the Volvo engineers for putting the battery in the trunk and for running a light blue stripped power antenna wire up the left speaker connections so i did not have to remove the head unit.
