I am considering getting a Volvo S40. I have heard good things about the cabin air quality of Volvo cars. Since I have bad allergies to dust mites, pollen, etc, I was wondering if any of you people notice a difference in cabin air quality between Volvo and other brands of cars. I’m curious as to where most folks keep their valet key. When more then one person drives the car it seems desirable to keep the valet key in the car or when the need arises to use the key. However, isn’t this a big security hole? Will the Volvo car immobilization system (provided you didn’t leave the car unlocked) make keep the valet key in the car a moot point?

A third generation motor with all of the kinks worked out, this workhorse, when properly maintained, will go a million kilometers! Maintenance and parts are a little more than the B230 but it is way more reliable and runs much more smoothly. Also, it is the easiest motor to work on...

I've got a tapping noise on a higher mileage 2003 2.4 D5 engine.

Sounds similar to a single tappet noise.

The noise starts when driving through 2000 RPM & disapears completely at 3000 RPM.

It's not audible when the vehicle is revved when parked.

Has anyone experienced this problem?
