I went up to the pass to go snowboarding today and decided to take some pictures. I really wish I had the AWD in the snow, but it was just fine using Winter Mode. I put the OEM Volvo Load Bars and Ski/Snowboard rack in just a few days ago, and they worked great!

I think I might start a collection of pictures where Volvo has featured in TV and movies.

The Volvo XC70 complements this classy and attractive lady.

However note the thread pattern on the front tyres! The left and right are different. Not ideally safe if one has to brake suddenly. The car risk drifting sideways if the gripping properties of both tyres are different.

The first was a 1914 Locomobile Berline. It got my vote for People's Choice. The attention to detail was amazing. You'd think you were in 1914, and it was brand new!

I forget what the bright blue one was. The white one was a 1927 Amilicar Race Car.

After the Porsche pics is a 1911 Runabout, then a 1911 Hart-Kraft delivery Truck.

A beautiful day for this show, the Radnor Hunt Concours d'Elegance. This was my first year, but every year has a diff honored marque. This year was Porsche, vintage motorcycles, and French coach work. The first batch was just from the parking lot. Hope you like...

I have placed a video notification at the 240 forum as I think that the only model to use K Jetronic fuel injection

Yellow one is a 1965 275 GTS, and the red one is a 1955 750 Monza...

I have taken on board all your comments [good & nasty !!!] about my movie and have made a new one

1/ This time I have made the direction North so as to be ARRIVING and not returning

2/ this accords with new music of Beethoven #6 [Pastoral] and Movement #1 "Awakening of joyful feelings on ARRIVAL in the country"

3/ I have improved the Google Earth interface with more maps of the journey [I start with a map of Australia and not the world, based on most folk KNOW where it is but if not, it is just left of Hawaii]

4/ It is even LONGER [but shorter than Dances with Wolves] but I wanted to keep all 12 minutes of the first movement

As for technical aspects, all is as before, with blue frame, custom profile etc - all at http://www.themediadoc.com [or will be ASAP]

I have now convinced Google Earth to join Beethoven in my old Volvo at

and have done other improvements

1/ I have put both the images in same frame as the movie

2/ for the movie [last frame down page] I have added a title [standard spinning newspaper from MM]

3/ and also added some Google Earth maps of the area - so each map covers about 1 minute and 1 km of the trip [now about 8 min/km]

4/ Beethoven remains the same

5/ The FREE ver on CD is still 1500 kbps [incl MP3 qual audio at 128 kbps] and on web I have increased it to a custom profile of 600 kbps [incl 64 for audio]

So in many ways this is a "special" and I will explain all the technicalities at http://www.themediadoc.com ASAP for those interested, albeit some are there already

Really sad thing is 30 km left in that lovely blue water is where Steve Erwin got killed by a ray, just 2 weeks after I took this movie

I know I have promised some "service" videos on Volvos [well on old 200 series] and I WILL do that ASAP

But I have just done a video with the camera strapped to the good old Volvo 1976 264 as I navigate the coast road near Port Douglas with Beethoven in the background

Here's a pic or two of my '96 855RA with the new grille. I relocated the horns last week to clean up the look and get some more cool air in where it counts. Yeah, I know, the spoiler is STILL broken

I found what I wanted to share with some of the forum members, but unfortunately, I lost the thread.

I believe someone said that he dropped his sunglasses into a small 'pit' within the car that the dealer requested to remove a lot of stuff to get the sunglasses out. And by that, charge a lot of $$$ for it. Smart, eh?

It's called the Claw PickUp Tool (refer photo attached) it costs like only RM10 (Malaysian Ringgit) and it took me more than a month to find a shop that has it. It also took me 15 minutes to describe it to the shop owner, who then retort, "Sorry, don't sell!"

Took my sweet-time going through the shelves and VOILA!
"Don't sell, my foot!"

The way it works is simple - you depress the edge and the claws emerge from the other end, then release the pressure, and the claw clamps onto whatever on it way. Cool eh? Sure beats spending hundreds to remove interior trims to get to that darn coin too!

Hi yall ive seen the sections on the car crashes an over the weekend me and my freind were in a 1992 acura integra and were run off the road by some jack@!! an we ended up rolling the car and ive got some pics form the scene here. and by the way we walked away with no injurys but some minor cuts from the windows

Woo hoo Volvo has had a respray, waiting for all the decals and we should be set. It has now been lowered 45mm, still not low enough i think it still needs to go down some more.
Lets have some comments, and dont be mean, i know it looks like a Jaffa Cake!!
