Still in the market for an XC90, and was told the other day that the 2.5 FWD model has excellent traction control and performs very well in snow and ice.

Just wondering what everyone else's experience has been. Seems like the AWD costs some mileage and can be prone to have reliability issues. How much better does it perform in bad weather?

With nothing blocking the door hatch, I closed it after emptying out the back of my XC90. When I tried opening it, it does not open! I pressed Lock/Unlock(2x) a number of times, but the back trunk door's handle does not feel like it's pulling anything in the latch.

Well I got everything removed except the rotors, I can't seem to get these things removed. Any special tools required besides a darn big hammer, trust me I'm half tempted default/wink.gif' 'wink.gif' />

ive recently joined this forum and have noticed a number of complaints about the XC90 popping up! i actually work in the parts department for a local volvo dealer and would like to offer my services!

Okay, This is an ongoing problem I have had since the replacement of my tranny. It is leaking on the left aft lower area of the engine and get this, only leaks when car is parked on an incline????? When on a flat surface, it doesn't leak. Need Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to find a XC90 maintenance manual and have had no luck. I want to change the plugs on my 5 cyl. engine and just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. I've gone to several auto parts stores and have had no luck, and can't even find anything on the web.

I own a 2004 XC90 and have recieved a message on the center navigation screen that read "The disc in teh DVD player can not be read please check disc. Has anyone every incurred this problem. Is it as simple as replacing the disc or is it the nav system.

I have a 2004 xc90 and the transmission service urgent light came on. I was not having any problems. I brought it in and they ran a diagnositic and then downloaded new software. They then told me I needed to replace the transmission for $5400. The car only has 59,000 mi. Since this service call the shifting is problematic with high revs and then knocking into 2 and 3rd gears. pper gears...

I had to order the remote and wireless headphones from a dealer for my used 05 XC90. The remoe lets me play dvds but the headset does not work. I put in batteries and turned on but no sound from them. Does anyone have a quick fix before I truck them back to the dealer?

I talked to my local dealer (in the NE) and he said it is all but impossible to find an XC90 without the Versatility Package. That option adds a lot to the bottom line and my kids are too big now to fit back there anyway. Is this the case or is he feeding me a line?

I just noted my right rear shock leaking as I was changing my pads/rotors. Has anyone here changed the rear shocks on their XC90? If so, how painful is it to get access to the top mount, how do you get there, etc?

i am new to the forum, a read up on what to expect so to speak. It has been a joy to drive and I think that I got a halfway good deal. It has 27K mile, and got it for $19,500. Carfax said it was clean, no accidents. It was a lease trade in.

Just purchased our XC90 after the lease expired. Its an '04 2.5T 31K miles and other than the fuel pump mount cracking hasnt had any issues at all. In fact the tires ( Michelin ) are just fine and original. Very happy with the car.

We drive about 9K a year. Extended waranties only go up to 7 years so as of August '08 we'll be out of the original warranty at about 40K...

I have a 2004 XC90 and my remote locks only work intermittently. They could be fine for days/weeks and then not work for a few hours up to a few days, and then suddenly work again.

New batteries don't help. I saw a posting about turning the ignition on and off 4 times to re-set, but that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

I just picked up a new 2008 XC90. The car has an AUX input in the center console for an iPod or USB player. I can't seem to locate the the part number or price for the adapter. Does this have to be a volvo part or can I use a 3rd pary cable? Any links to purchase are helpful.
