I purchased a pair of Alpine Sport tire chains for my XC90. The owners manual says to only use one pair on the front tires and not the rear. Anyone know why you can't chain all 4 tires? It must have something to do with the all time 4 wheel drive.....

A couple of questions about heat in the XC90

1. How do I get the rear vents (for the 3rd seat) to blow hot air? If I turn the air conditioning on and the temp control way up it still blows cold air. If I have the air conditioner off and the blower set to the middle of the person on the control there is no air flow to the back of the car.

Parrot Bluetooth 3100 looks/feels same as Volvo BT kit - but it has caller ID. BT through Volvo is supposed to go through car speakers/mute radio for incoming calls/etc... Well, after speaking to Todd at Heico, I explored the idea if installing the Heico/VizuaLogic dual dvd setup in my S80. This kit is advertised towards the XC90, but will work in other models. I purchased my XC90 in the states, but have recently moved to Quebec city in Canada. I am trying to get a straight forward response on how to equip the truck with winter tires. I have been told that I should buy 16 inch wheels and tires, and leave my stock 18 inch wheels and tires off for the winter.

I don't know anything about sound systems, but can I have the Volvo dealer install the premium system now or is it a done deal once it leaves the factory? The tyre place recomended the pirellii scorpion tyre which around 130 each

I am looking for new tires for my XC90. The Michelin P235/60R18, Pilot HXMXM4 only lasted for 24k miles, cost to replace has been quoted at $267 per tire. So I am looking for something more "economical". I live in the bay area, which means it is city driving, with some rain, but no snow or ice. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Is anyone aware of a bike carrier (holds two or more) that can be mounted to the rear glass window of an XC90? I've found roof-mounted and trailer hitch option from most of the major manufacturers (Yakima, Saris, Thule), but nothing to fit on top of the glass.
I suspect it has something do with the wiperblade and the weight limitations on the liftgate, but I'd much prefer to pull...

I recently bought a power inverter that I'd like to install in my '05 XC90. In addition to the standard 12V connections, the inverter has a single lead that is supposed to be wired to the ignition key switch to act as a remote 'power on' for the inverter so it wont drain the battery.
