Description This car was abandoned along the side of the street by a woman that was having multiple problems with the vehicle but moreso problems with her personal life and especially with the guy that gave her the car.
A friend bought it at city garage auction but he already had three Volvos but only parking for two so I ended up with it for $500
The main thing wrong with it when I got it was the switch in the shift that prevents the engine from starting when the automatic is in a gear position. So the Beast started sometimes and sometimes not. That cost me $30 at the mechanic I was using.
(my mechanic was a neighbor - friend of the friend that I bought the car from and had a Volvo Logo Insignia tattooed on his bicep)
Alternator was replaced with a used part extracted from a vehicle in above mentioned mechanics yard - forgot what that cost.
Head cracked on the interstate and towing and (used again) replacement along with replacement of rear light lens (from junkyard) and a spare key (from Volvo dealer) cost me about $275

There are a number of things I would like to replace such as the front seats
and my speedometer doesnt work
however I like my little Beast
and hope I can keep fixing it when needed
I have moved away from the city I used to live in out of range of my old mechanic
I did spring a fuel hose leak under the vehicle and had it fixed for a grand total of $21 at our local garage downtown

Both mechanics that I have used seem to like to do work that they think is needed without charging me. Which seems to me to be very interesting and unusual.

I look forward to exploring this forum and meeting the people here.
I found you cause I have new problem right now but instead of fixing my problem I am exploring around and loading up a picture of my own little beast

Hopefully now that I am a member here, I will take a more decent picture and update this entry

grin .............
