Description1968 Volvo 122S w/ 4-speed Manual + OD. A very well maintained specimen I purchased in early 2005 from a local guy who had bought it from the widow of the original owner 6 months before. Included with the purchase was a stack of receipts telling its history, including info about its repaint/body refresh in the mid-1980's, and its reupholstering in the late-1980's. Came with its original B18 motor with only 118K miles (verified from receipts), mostly because the original owner lived very close to work and apparently didn't travel much. Previous owner put in Weber carb conversion...still unsure of that move, but it works. In '06 I had a whole plan scheduled as far as restorations and upgrades, but that sorta' fell by the wayside as I took a hiatus from doing much with the car except to drive it. So far here's what's been done: - freshly rebuilt B20 engine transplant hopefully completed by end of March (FI big valve head, Isky performance cam, IPD valve cover, modified flywheel - Weber carb was kept) - 2" Skandix Sport Exhaust kit + dual downpipe exhaust manifold from a later B20 - Crane XR700 Fireball Electronic Ignition - Refreshed original rims with silver rustoleum paint and replaced original center wheel caps with better-condition set - Bilstein heavyduty shocks - Progressive lowering springs from Skandix. Some things on the to-do or would-like-to-do list: - IPD sway bar - Alternator conversion [I have the alternator and bracket, but the generator is working just fine now so no hurry!] - Dual Mikuni carbs from v-performance [maybe...cost a pretty penny, but I've read some really good feedback about their fuel efficiency and power delivery] - Body work to address some rust spots and new paint job Stay tuned!
